His Changing Heart (Sesshomaru X Oc)

Chapter 27

"Sesshomaru!" Kagome's voice rang through my ears. I felt my ears twitch as I slowly open my eyes. Sitting up slowly I see Inuyasha's sword transformed back and an arrow next to the boys. Then it hit me.
"Kagome stay out of the way!" I warned. This girl is gonna get herself killed! She stood confidently with another arrow pulled back ready to fire.
"Drop the sword or the next arrows going in your heart," she warned. Kagome... How are you so brave?

"Kagome!" Inuyasha yelled in worry.
"Inuyasha get out of there. Move it!" she demanded as she pulled farther back on the bowstring. Quickly getting to my feet a wave of feeling light-headed hit me. Clutching my sword the was still in the ground for support I let it pass before pulling it out and jumping over to her side.

"If you're gonna shoot make sure you have a clear shot. He's fast so you'll have only one chance. I'll be here to protect you." I instructed but soon guilt hit me. Do I really not want Sesshomaru to die? I only spent 3 days in his presence but he was different when he wasn't around Inuyasha. More bearable. I watched the scene in front of me feeling torn between what to do. I can't help him but I can't help Kagome kill him either. What's wrong with me?

"Are you listening? I need you! What am I supposed to do?!" I asked in my head hoping to reach the women of my past. I of course got no reply.
"Sesshomaru, I've got you now! I'll shoot your left arm off! Say goodbye to your shard!" she yelled out as she released the arrow. I stepped forward out of an impulse to stop her but it was too late. The arrow was flying through the air. Why did I try and stop her?!

Sesshomaru dodged and I released a breath I didn't know I was holding. No one is going to die today. Not on my watch. Sesshomaru jumped towards us as I readied my sword. I've never used one but it seems my body already knows what to do. I'll just you to guide me. Inuyasha landed in front of us after attacking Sesshomaru making him move away. Inuyasha told Kagome to help Miroku and thanked her for her help with reversing the sword.

"Inuyasha. What do I do? Where can I be of help?" I asked as I watched Sesshomaru who seemed to be watching me as well.
"Protect Kagome when needed but for now...help me take him down. Sesshomaru is strong. I'll need your help for now." he admitted. I nodded as he jumped down. My ears twitched and a shiver ran up my spine.
"Naraku." my head snapped to where Miroku and Shippo were residing.

Naraku is behind all this?! Something drew me in when his name was spoken. A feeling of determination and strength struck me in the heart. Whoever he is, it seems my body doesn't like him and yet wants to fight him. Strange. Focusing back to Inuyasha and Sesshomaru I watched for an opening. I watched as they battled. Cuts began to litter Inuyasha's body before Sesshomaru landed a right hook to his face knocking him back.

"Opening...I need an opening" I whispered to myself. An arrow whizzed by hitting Sesshomaru's armor. My head snapped in the direction it came from. Kagome you idiot. She shot another arrow only for Sesshomaru to catch it between his fingertips disintegrating it into nothing. Sesshomaru struck with the sword that now glowed. Inuyasha tried to rush to her aid.
"I'm faster I can make it," I mumbled dashing in front of her.
"A few seconds that all I got," I whispered as I focused on my sword like before.

Slicing down I opened my eyes to see the shield again. It was much smaller and a lot weaker. It began to crack so I took that as my cue. Grabbing Kagome I jumped out of the way placing her a little ways from the fight.
"Stay here Kagome. I mean it. I will help Inuyasha just...just fucking stay put! We can't get rid of Sesshomaru if we are having to protect you!" I let my anger out on her before dashing back towards the battle.

I felt bad but it needed to be said. Inuyasha got there too late thinking Kagome was there and was thrown back. Shit.
"Inuyasha stay back for now," I instructed. He instructed Miroku to take Kagome and leave. Moving beside me we both stood on guard. Sesshomaru got ready to strike again and so I began doing my protective barrier. This time without the sword. Focusing as hard as I could with my hands out in front of me the barrier began to make its way through my hands. Forming just in time as Sesshomaru struck.

"Inuyasha what the hell are you doing?!" I yelled as he stepped in front of my barrier and moved towards Sesshomaru.
"I'm taking my sword back," he growled as the strike began taking its toll. The strike began to pushing my barrier back and I along with it sliding backward. When the light dissipated I released the barrier gasping for air as I stared in front of me. Inuyasha held Sesshomaru's arm. In result, Sesshomaru struck his arm through his back.

"Inuyasha-"
"Stay back!" he cut me off as he pulled the arm from Sesshomaru and the sword along with it. Inuyasha stood tall for a few seconds before falling to his knee.
"Inuyasha!" I yelled as I dashed forward standing in front of him with my own sword back in my hand. Sesshomaru turned to leave as the sword attacked on its own against the imp.

"Sesshomaru! That's it?! You don't get what you want so you leave?! You've done a lot of damage! Damage that you should pay for!" anger boiled in my blood as I rushed forward to attack but when I swung down I stopped myself just as he grabbed the sword.
"You've been attempting to not attack me. Even now you won't hit me straight on. Why?" he question.
"I'm- I'm not sure," I whispered in shock as I looked to the ground still in the same position of attack.

"I do not wish to kill you. But I will if I have to," he stated as he disintegrated the sword and disappeared with the bees following after him. I fell to the ground in shock. Why couldn't I hit him? Why couldn't I just end his life?!
"What the hell is wrong with me?!" I shouted hitting the ground causing large cracks to form and a large indent to take place. Looking up in the direction he left in my eyes narrowed and determination filled my body.

"Miroku, take care of Kagome and Shippo. Make sure Kagome and Inuyasha and Inuyasha and Shippo don't fight. Keep the group together and keep them safe from dumb decisions until I return." I appointed.
"You're not seriously going after him are you?! You'll get yourself killed!" he fretted.
"He's not my target-" I turned my head to look over my should as I watched it click in his brain.

"- I'm finding Naraku. Sesshomaru is gonna lead me straight to him."
