Strawberry Kisses

PART 16

Mina went home after taking a walk and was welcomed by their maids cleaning up some broken glasses. Great. She thought. She then got a glimpse of her dad in the bar near their kitchen. His head is laying on the table. Mina walked closer, putting down the paper bag she's holding on.

"Dad, come on. I'll bring you to your room." Mina said patting her dad's back.

Her dad slightly looked up to see his daughter then went back to his previous position. "Dad." She repeated. When she see no hope, Mina, with all her strength pulled her dad up. She was then helped by Mrs. Park and they both bring her dad on his room.

"Get some rest now, Ms. Mina." Mrs. Park said while walking the younger girl to her room.

Mina just gave her a weak smile then entered her bedroom. She brings out the foods she bought from the convenient store and stared at one specific item. Strawberry ice cream. This is not the usual flavor she gets when buying ice cream. Why did she buy it? She can't remember. She can't even remember the foods she bought. Then her phone buzzed.

She then saw message notifications from an unknown number. She opened the message and her smile grew widely when she realized it's from Chaeyoung.

Strawberry. She now remembered why she bought the ice cream in the first place. It reminded her of Chaeyoung's reactions when she see it for dessert the other night and when she savor every spoon. She remembered how the younger girl would shake her body as if she got tickled or electrified and the cute little sounds she makes. Without her knowing, the thought of the younger girl is making her smile.

Not knowing what to reply, she put down her phone and positioned her body on her bed and started eating the foods she bought while watching on her television. When Mina got bored at what she's watching, she then decided to take a hot shower. After, she changed her clothes and lay down on her bed. Mina can't shake the feeling that she forgot something. She then remember the text she received a while back. She hurriedly reached for her phone.

Stupid. You left her on read. You didn't say anything. She scolded herself. Mina started typing but then deletes it right away. She stayed like that for quite some time before she decided to hit send.

Chaeyoung gave up and decided to force herself to sleep. She closed her eyes and got startled when she felt her phone that is on her chest vibrated. She immediately sat up and looked at the notification.

The younger girl carefully read the message from the older girl and she's now thinking what can she reply to these messages. Why am I thinking what to reply? Wait should I reply? She questioned herself. Then she read Mina's reply again. Chaeng? Where did that came from? Only her unnies and close friends calls her that.

A realization suddenly hits Chaeyoung. She's not nervous around Mina anymore. Well she still is, but in a good and weird way. These past few days, she sees the older girl differently. She saw another side of Mina she thought the older girl doesn't have.

Mina knew Chaeyoung was younger than her but she did not expect the gap to be 2 years. The younger girl on the other hand, not wanting to end their conversation, open up another topic.

For a moment, Mina thought about their project. She didn't lie when she said they haven't started it yet.

Mina boasted. She knows she can beat anyone when it comes to arcade and other computer games. She sometimes spends most of her weekend in front of her computer, playing online games, mostly Minecraft.

Wait. "we"? Is she referring to Rosie? The question popped up in Mina's head and she felt a weird feeling inside her but decided to ignore it nonetheless.

The two girls continued talking about random things. They both ended up enjoying new things they learned about each other. Surprisingly, they both like talking with each other. And turns out they have a lot of things in common most especially when it comes to music.

Chaeyoung was the first to say goodnight and Mina followed by wishing the younger girl a good night sleep as well. Mina and Chaeyoung both dozed off with funny smiles on their faces. Smile they both gave each other unknowingly..
