"Oh no, what happened to your phone?" Farida asked as she looked at my cracked screen guard. The others were split between the dance floor, the bathroom and the bar so the table was empty when I sank into one of the seats, feeling dazed and tingly.
We kissed. Dhruv and I kissed.
I kissed the Bad Company!
Not that the kiss was bad, it was bloody amazing but what the hell is wrong with me?
It was hard for me to feel the cold horror of my actions when my entire body was like 1000 degrees hot.
Even my wildest, dizziest, stupidest daydreams or PPTs couldn't have imagined how incredible I felt when kissing him. It was just so good. Like, so insanely, annoyingly good.
How can I be mad about that?
"It fell," I said weakly, reaching for a glass of water and downing it in one go.
Farida seemed confused as she looked at me. "You okay? You look...flushed."
"Yeah it's just like- super hot inside this suit- its' made of pure silk or something- anyway, I am perfectly fine and - oh hey look the others are back!" I said, gladly jumping into a segue as the rest of them sat down on the table.
"Where did you disappear off to?" Krish demanded as he sat down next to me. "Did Uncle want something?"
"He wanted to ask if I needed to be picked up- Krish, listen, I just did something", I hissed, unable to keep it with myself any longer.
He frowned at my hushed tone. "What is it?"
I cleared my throat in preparation to spill the beans. "I might have done something with someone that I shouldn't have done anything with."
His frown deepened as he considered that sentence. "Did you...lose your ability to use normal sentences?"
"Krish, be serious."
"It was a serious question." he replied, sliding closer to me so that I could whisper. "What is it?"
"I kissed Dhruv." I said, burying my face in my hands.
His expression remained blank as he surveyed my distressed expression. "Who's that?"
"My boss!" I hissed in exasperation.
His eyes widened. "The one from work?"
"Yeah, how many other Dhruvs do you and I know?" I asked, annoyed.
He sat up straight. "When?"
"Right now- like five minutes ago-he was upstairs- something happened and then he kissed me!" I said in disbelief. I still couldn't believe that happened. We were just talking- as in, I was just talking and he was as usual practicing the art of cold silence.
How did that change?
He stared at me like he couldn't believe his ears. "You're not joking, right?"
"Believe me, I wish I was. But Krish, I kissed him back and- oh my god, I am freaking out internally, like I want to crawl out of my skin and hide under a rock forever. Also, Parth is here with Vanya and I think they are hooking up so you know, its all a rich tapestry of horror in my head right now."
He held up his hand, his expression straight-up baffled. I was plying too much information for him to process in his current state of intoxication."Wait, wait- Parth is here too? Did you meet him?"
