""Amirah, you love Imad right?" The voice note started playing right in Imad's ear, he adjusted his airpods to listen to it without anything disturbing or interrupting him.

"Yes, I love him, Tif. I've already told you that since and I've made my move but..." The words trailed off, as if she is trying to shake out what she is feeling. "He is unreachable. He's already made up his mind not to be with me so I'm ceding." Her voice is weak and down hearted.

"Don't give up now, Amirah. I know that you are drowned in debts, don't even ask how. You've been doing everything you could, working as a maid and all sort of odd jobs. You won't do that because you want more galore in your life, not that. Something more is going on and what is more than debt? There is no way you are being so crazy to work without earning those cash." Lateefa's voice is open and have no accusation or judgement there.

What are they talking about now that someone had to send it to him? If this is all they are going to talk about, he is going to just go back to his family and enjoy more of their banter, it is helping him heal. Amirah getting accepted by his sisters in-law and mother is an important deal to him, he needs to see that smile on his wife and daughter's faces. He shouldn't miss this beautiful moment, he wants to keep it in his memory.

"Yeah, I'm swallowed in debts. I don't know what I'm doing right now. I should focus on helping my sister finish her school and my niece with more worldly stuff any baby would want. I'm being so selfish right now wanting to bring back my own happiness and forgetting about theirs." Amirah sighed at the end of the conversation, she sounds worn out. He did that to her, he did it.

He was about the pause the voice note and just delete the number when something Lateefa said caught him mid action.

"I have a plan for you." His ears perked up at this, knowing this sounds evil than good. As if what she is going to say is an incubus to him. "Why not force yourself back with Imad so he can pay the debts for you? I know you love him but you've suffered enough. Force yourself into him and get him to pay it then live happily ever after."

His mouth slackened at this, he couldn't believe the guts of Lateefa, pushing Amirah into doing such bad thing. Amirah wouldn't want him because of his money and debts, she won't. She just admitted to loving him dearly and even abandoning her daughter and sister for her own love life. She loves him for who he is, still that innocent girl but Lateefa sure is inane for bring such a thing up.

"It is not that cinch. You caught me. I'm fifty percent wanting to go back to him because of debts but I still love him. I just don't know what to do. Afaf thinks I'm crazy but this is the only way to get out of those debts. I'm working jobs but it is as though I'm getting deeper into it. The woman around my neighbourhood is threatening the wellbeing of my sister and niece, I can't have that. I'm afraid of what she can do, I need succor as soon as possible." A shaky sigh came out of Amirah's mouth.

"You have sense. Don't be dense. Get back to him, albeit not cinch, don't capitulate just yet. I won't advice you to follow men around because you want your debts paid so stick to your ex husband.""

And the voice note ended right there, leaving Imad confused at what he just heard. What does this person want sending something like this to him? Who would've recorded this and send to him? Lateefa wouldn't do this but then who? It sounds like they were the only two people so who is this eldritch person sending such messages without elucidating it to him. What is he to do with that? Get mad at Amirah and leave her or what?
