Harry POV

"Oi, Harry, get up!" Ron yelled, jumping on my bed.

I groaned loudly, reaching for my glasses. "Why? It's Sunday."

"Come on Harry!" Ron nagged. "What are you forgetting?"

"It's not your birthday is it?" I shot up in worry.

"No you idiot! The champions are being announced today!"

"Oh yeah, did you end up putting your name in?" I asked, curious.

"Nah, 'mione convinced me not to. As annoying as she is, she's right on this one."

My stomach turned. I hadn't told anyone that I put my name in, not even Ron or Hermione. Maybe it was the wrong thing to do... Was I really up to the task on the off chance I get picked?

Snapping me out of my spiralling thoughts, Ron said, "It's nearly midday now, and the name picking ceremony is at seven. That must mean loads of people queuing up to get their name in last minute."

"What, sudden bursts of courage?" I snorted.

"I guess..."

After lunch, a large crowd gathered around the goblet. I pushed my way to the front to see what was going on.

Fred and George stood outside the age line with hundreds of name slips held in their hands. "And with this, we guarantee the Weasley twins will represent Hogwarts!"

Cheers of support nearly burst my ear drums.

"It's not going to work!" Hermione insisted from a bench in a sing song voice.

Crouching either side of Hermione, the Weasley twins grinned.

"And why is that?" Fred asked.

"See that there?" She pointed to the line surrounding the goblet. "That isn't only an age line, it protects the goblet from cheaters. There is no way it will let you two through carrying that many slips. Didn't you hear what happened to Hannah McDonald when she took her slip and a friends though the line on Wednesday?"

"Don't worry Granger," George said.

"We have a plan," they said in unison.

Fred cleared his throat. "Obviously we won't be stepping over the line with the slips, we will use a simple levitating charm and float them directly into the goblet."

"Dumbledore designed the line himself. There is no way it can be tricked by something so pathetically dimwitted as a levitation charm." Hermione scowled.

"But that's why it's so brilliant!" George exclaimed.

"It's so pathetically dimwitted that Dumbledore wouldn't have even thought to protect against it!" Fred grinned.

"Don't say I didn't warn you," Hermione muttered under her breath. "Besides, it's not even random. The goblet picks who's most worthy."

Intrigued to see how it would go, I watched as they made their slips levitate. A few cheers rattled through the crowd as the slips successfully passed the age line. They dropped into the goblet with a satisfying hiss. For a second it seemed they had been successful, then it was wrong.

The slips shot out of the goblet in a fiery blue blaze, bursting into Fred and George.

In an instant, they floated off the ground, reaching the ceiling. They flailed about, trying to get to ground unsuccessfully.

"You said!"

"No you said!"

Chants of, "FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT," attracted attention from none other than Dumbledore himself.
