Libitina got to 6 Watery Lane and ran straight up the dark stairs to her and Ada's bedroom. She threw herself on the bed and under the sheets and let her prickly tears fall down her blushed cheeks. She was so confused on what caused John to have such an outburst, he had Martha and a child on the way, she knew he didn't love Martha but he hated Libitina so why would he be so defensive? The same two questions ran through her head, "he hates me, so why would he do such a thing?" "Does he really hate me?".

She pushed the thoughts away, she knew John hated her, he told her everyday he hated her for no reason. She got pulled out of her thoughts when there was a knock on the bedroom door, thinking it was Polly she told them to come in, not caring her face was red and her cheeks being full of tears.

When the door opened she was shocked and confused to see the boy who's made her feel like this with a sad expression on his face. It was John.

He wanted to say something but the words didn't come out. The words were stuck in his throat not wanting to come out incase he said something wrong. The only words he was able to say was "I'm so sorry" but they came out in a whisper Libitina didn't catch what he said.

"Why are you here?" Libitina asked, voice shaky.

"I'm so sorry Libitina, I don't know what got over me, I am honestly so sorry for hurting you, but I'm not sorry for pushing him on the floor and screaming at him." John said closing the door lightly and kneeling down so they were both eye to eye.

Libitina was shocked to say the least, confused on why the boy would be apologizing.

"Why would you do it? You've hated me since Polly let me in?" Libitina asked scared on what his response would be.

John wanted to tell her how he felt, he's wanted to tell her since the day in the kitchen, but he doesn't have the strength to do so.

"I don't hate you Tina, I never have." John spoke, them words being the only thing he could say to the sad girl in front of him.

John left the room in such a hurry Libitina didn't have the time to say anything. This has just made her even more confused than before John walked in the room. The thoughts and questions never ending in her head. But the one thing she was happy about was John telling her he never hated her. She didn't know why it made her so happy, but it did, and that made her more confused about her feelings for John.
