Libitina got woken up by Polly saying John has called for a family meeting at The Garrison. Libitina got ready and walked down to the pub to meet up with the rest of the family, not ready for what this meeting was about.
"Alright John, there's only one man guarding the house. What's troubling ya?" Tommy asked.
"Polly, you know what it's been like. Since Martha died." John said looking at Polly.
"God takes the best first." She said holding onto his hands.
"Truth is, my kids have been running bloody rings around me. Running barefoot with the dogs until all hours." John stated.
"Poll, give him ten bob for some shoes. Is that it, John?" Tommy questioned which made Libitina laugh.
"Tommy, Libitina, it would be better to do this without you." Polly said.
"Yeah whatever Pol carry on John." Libitina said.
"Now what's your point?" Polly asked.
"What the kids need is a mother." John started. "So that's why I'm getting married." He finished.
Libitina's world fell apart right there and then, not believing what just left his mouth.
"Does this poor girl know your going to marry her, or are you just going to spring it on her all of a sudden?" Libitina joked.
"I already proposed and she said, "yes"." He said looking away from Libitina.
"I think there's a shell about to land and go bang." Tommy said.
"It's er... It's Lizzie Stark." John said making everyone in the room laugh.
"What did I tell you Tommy ey? He's getting married to a prostitute." Libitina stated.
"John, Lizzie Stark is a strong woman and I'm sure she provides fine service for her customers." Polly joked.
"I won't hear the word. Understand? Do not use that word." John shouted.
"What? Prostitute? Thought you had better standards than that John boy." Libitina stated making everyone in the room laugh again.
"Everybody can go to hell." John said.
"Can we at least say whore?" Tommy asked.
"Right, I want it known. If anyone calls her a whore again, I will push the barrel of my revolver down their throats, and blow the word back down into their hearts." John said.
"Whore." Libitina joked waiting for John's reaction.
John didn't dare do anything when Polly raised her voice to talk.
"Men and their cocks never cease to amaze me. John, Lizzie Stark never did a day's work vertical.." Polly said.
"She's changed. All right. People change." John said.
"Ey Tommy, go give Lizzie ten bob to suck ya cock and prove John wrong." Libitina spoke up.
