9 | Illegal racing

Lina huffed slamming the laptop shut. We all looked at her.

"Planning a party is usually fun for me but this is boring." Lina said throwing herself on the bed.

"I'll have to agree with you there." Sarah sighed

Sarah and Maya had come over go help Lina and I plan my party. We need all the help we can get.

Lina sat up and smirked. From the time we were little kids I knew nothing good am from that look.

I shook my head. "What ever you have planned it's a no."

Lina pouted. "But you haven't even heard of my plan yet."

"You have on your 'I have nothing good planned' look on."

"Come on hear me out." Lina looked at Sarah and Maya who both pouted at me.

Rolling my eyes I huffed. "Fine."

Lina squealed. "So there is this guy Santiago, I met him online-"

"Dating online." I smirked

Lina rolled her eyes blushing. "Whatever. So he told me about this underground race track."

"But aren't race tracks illegal and dangerous?" Maya asked

Lina and I laughed. "They are dangerous but that's the fun in it."

"So what we go there and watch people race?" questioned Sarah

"Watch people race." I repeated. "girl no we are going to race our asses off."

"But we've never raced before or done anything illegal." Maya pointed out.

"Stick with us and we'll show you every little thing you've never imagined." Lina told them as she walked to my closet. "What's everyone waiting for get dressed!"

We all rushed up into different directions. Lina and I span in front of each other showing off our outfits even though we were both wearing the same thing. White tank tops and blue booty shorts with black leather jackets on top and a pair of sneakers.

We turned to look at Maya and Sarah who were wearing a long open dresses and heels. Lina frowned looking at them.

"Change!"

"But it's comfortable." Argued Maya

"We are going racing not shopping. Change." Both of them frowned at Lina before going to change.

The moment we got out of the car all eyes were on us. Lina and I loves the attention, it honestly made me miss being a cheerleader.

We walked over were a group of guys were betting into the race. Whistles and cat calls were heard as we walked passed

"We want in." Was the first thing I said when we got there.

The guys looked at us and laughed

"Listen sweetie, this isn't a play ground so why don't you girls go home."

I smirked shaking my head. Lina raised up 100 grand in her hand making the guys eyes widen.

"You beat me you get to have that. I win I take it all."

"Don't start crying when you lose." The man holing all the money said while collecting the hundred grand from Lina

Soon we heard the roars of engines coming in. We turned to see who it was.

"our last racer has arrived." The man who collected the money said standing next to me.

I gasped taking a step back when I saw Carlo and the two guys from the mall coming out if the car.

I felt Lina's grasp my hand as she breath in heavily. They all walked over to us. Carlos eyes widened in shock when he was us before going back to normal.

Carlo handed his money and we all got into our cars. All I could think about was winning this race. I could never let myself to lose to Carlo.

I slammed my car door as I got out. I didn't beat Carlo.

We tied.

I took a deep breath smiling at the crowd as they jumped up and down around me.

I felt an arm snake around my waist. Thinking it was Lina I leaned into it, until I felt a hard chest. Looking at the face I saw it was Carlo. Moving away from him in a speed of lighting I glared at him for getting close go me, for touching me.

The guy who had collected that money earlier on walked to us giving us half each.

"You were good kid. I didn't think you could do it." He said when he handed me my share.

"Gia." Carlo called out.

"What?!" I glared at him

"I didn't know you could drift like that."

I chuckled bitterly. "There are a million things you don't know about me."

"Lina." He nodded Looking behind sides at Lina who had just joined us.

"You know your such a jerk. You actually have the guts to speak to us after everything you have done."

"I can explain." He took a step forward making us both take one back.

"Do us both a favour and stay away from us. Tell Santiago to do the same." We got into the front seats while Maya and Sarah got into the back.

"Santiago?" Sarah asked

"His the guy that arrived with Carlo." Lina explained

"Why do you want him to stay away from you?" Maya asked

"I don't want anyone associated with Carlo around me."

From there we drive silently back home. We sneaked the car back into the garage and used the back door to get into the house.

When we made it onto the living room. The light came on....
