KILLUA

came to see the girl everyday as if nothing happened to his best friend. he still wore the same warm smile with the same happy and carefree aurora.

yua decided not to ask about how he felt with gon's passing, however she did regularly ask how he was doing that day, asking if he ate, if he went to school, and things like that.

"but emi!" yua whined, looking up at her nurse who's eyes narrowed at the childish girl.

"no, yua. you're just going to run away!" she huffed quietly, not wanting the other nurses to hear she was having trouble with one kid- yet again.

"please please please emi! i pinky promise i won't go anywhere! i just wanna see the leaves in the garden!" yua begged, clapping her hands together and shaking them in front of her chest.

emi let out a loud sigh, rubbing the crease of her forehead as she contemplated on letting the small girl outside. she finally gave in after seeing yua's puppy dog eyes that seemed to always work.

yua beamed a bright smile, jumping up to grab her black hoodie before running out the door- not before thanking emi at least 1,000 times.

she swayed back and forth, twirling around in the hallway with her arms out to the side as she smiled and giggled.

killua couldn't see her smile, yet he knew it was there. bigger and brighter than ever as he watched the eccentric girl laugh.

he slowly walked behind her, his hands in his pockets with a small smile of his own as he adored her from a far.

"c'mon killua!" she yelled, running down the stairs and heading for the back exit. killua chuckled to himself as he went down step by step.

"i'm coming yua, the leaves aren't going to go anywhere." he joked.

the two teens finally made their way outside to the garden, the wind blowing the trees which made even more fall leaves to the ground.

yua looked around in pure amazement before starting to shiver since her hoodie was only so thick. killua, however, took notice of the small shivers before taking off his coat for the girl.

he set it down on the bench beside the flower garden before gesturing the small girl to it. she immediately declined, arguing that he'd be cold as well to which he shrugged too.

after a few minutes of an agonizingly long silent battle of who would take the coat, yua finally gave in.

she immediately melted into the warmth of the bigger coat before looking up with sparkles in her eyes at all the falling leaves.

seconds turned into minutes that turned into hours of watched red, brown, orange leaves from the dying trees with small talk between the two teens. before either of them knew it, they were walking back inside the hospital so yua could take her medicine.

yua gagged after swallowing her pill, disgusted with the taste before looking over at killua while she laid down on her bed.

"it's getting pretty late?" she hummed, the male nodding after looking outside.

"right, i gotta get home for dinner." he huffed, standing up from his chair before walking towards the door.

"oh hey, you're jack-" yua started before being abruptly cut off by killua himself who smiled warmly at the girl.

"i want you to keep it." he exclaimed, beaming at the girl before walking out the door; not before telling her goodnight per usual.

yua sighed softly before turning to look out the window. october was almost over since halloween was the next day, yet; her mother had yet to visit.

she pushed her bang back from her forehead and out of her eye with another hushed sigh.

"i hate being alone." she mumbled.
