Once back at the Burrow we were greeted by Molly, Ginny and Ron. Percy was probably being antisocial in his room and Bill and Charlie left this morning to head back to their jobs. But I'm sure Molly will write to them about the great news.
"How'd it go dear?" Molly asked sweetly as I regained my balance from side apparating.
"I won, he's freed!" I exclaimed with a bright smile and Molly engulfed me into one of her bear hugs. Luckily she didn't squeeze too hard.
"That's wonderful," she says pulling away with a smile just as big as mine. Ginny and Ron had similar expressions. It made me happy to know that they all cared about me so much.
"Now I get to go see him. He's staying with Remus until he can get back onto his feet properly," I say as my felt my heart swell with pure joy. A feeling that I hadn't felt in ages. If only Mum and Dad were here to see all this. They'd be proud of me.
We talked some more before Remus and I left so we could greet Sirius when he arrived. Remus's house wasn't much, but what can you expect from a werewolf. He lived very plainly, there wasn't many things that would make it a home. Probably since they would get broken when he transformed.
"Sorry it isn't much. I've had Dumbledore enchant it so that I can't get out during full moons," he explains as he waved his hand. All the broken things began repairing themselves.
"It's fine uncle Moony, I completely understand," I replied sitting down on the couch. The springs squeaked quietly beneath me, making me smile.
It was quiet for a few minutes. Remus seemed embarrassed about having me see the place where he lives. Mostly because it wasn't much of a house. However I didn't mind it at all. Afterall a house is a house no matter the state it's in. As long as it's suitable for someone to live in. Which it was.
It made me think of the shrieking shack, which dad had described to me so many times. It was this old shack that Dumbledore had placed on the outskirts of Hogsmead so Remus could transform in there to keep everyone safe and himself.
On the mantle were a few pictures. Just ones that Remus must've cherished. Each one was of him with dad, Sirius and Peter as boys. Bright smiles on their faces, and Mum must be the one taking them. The last two photos were of Harry and I as babies, all swaddled up in fuzzy blankets. Sound asleep.
I got up and gently took the photo of Harry down, careful not to break it. He looked at peace as he slept. Black hair sticking up at various angles over the edge of the blanket, despite it being short. I smiled remembering that I use to ruffle up Dad's hair and it would stick up at odd angles. Then Mum would come over and try to fix it but no matter what it would stubbornly stick back up again. I thought it was funny everytime.
"There's often times where I think about how things would've been if they were still here. How life would be," Remus says breaking the comfortable silence that filled the room.
"I often think about that as well. Things would've been better for me. Hopefully Harry had a better upbringing," I replied wanting nothing but the best for my baby brother, who wasn't a baby anymore.
Our chat was brought short by the Minister apparating in with Sirius at his side. He looked dreadful, even worse than how I had when Dobby helped me escape. A debt I would repay one day. Sirius's cheeks were sunken in to the point he looked like a skeleton, and he was incredibly thin. A week with Molly would do him good, she'd feed him well.
His black hair was long, greasy and terribly matted and his eyes sunken in. The poor man needed alot of TLC and a nice shower.
He smiled when he saw Remus and his eyes widened upon seeing me "You look just like Lily my sweet Shay,"
I ran forward and wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug. He flinched at the contact but soon hugged back. He was freezing to the touch.
"We'll let you go get a nice hot shower and then you're coming with us to the Weasley's. Molly's cooking will make you feel better," I explained when I pulled away and he smiled.
"That's sounds lovely my dear," he replies with a smile. Remus then lead him to the bathroom so he could freshen up. I hoped he can adjust to everything, since he hadn't seen civilization in so long.....
I'm so sorry it's been months since the last chapter. I've been having writer's block for alot of my stories and have been focusing on the one I have ideas for. On tope of being busy with work and what not, but I hope I can update regularly again soon. I hope you like this and thanks for reading...
