Y/N POV

It's was an anxious and sickening car ride to the Avengers Tower but thank god it didn't take long. Tony and I didn't mumble a word to one another but I could feel him taking small glances towards me throughout the drive. Once we arrived, I stopped in front of the massive skyscraper and watched in awe. Tony gently nudged me towards the entrance and once inside, we entered the elevator, going up and up to which I thought there was no end.

A small ping brought me out of my thoughts of how extravagant this tower was and I followed Tony to a large living area where others were waiting. I started to worry thinking if these people would accept me or whether I'd be an outcast yet again. But a man with blond hair and beautiful blue eyes diminished my doubt with a warm smile and an even warmer welcome. "Y/n right?" I nod. "We're glad that Tony managed to convince you to come. I'm Steve." He brought out his hand for me to shake and I took it cautiously.

However, I saw his demeanour was nothing but welcoming and I decided to trust the man before me. "It's nice to meet you, Steve." Tony interrupted our discussion and started introducing the other characters in the room. "OK, there's Bruce," he said as he pointed to a timid man who looked like a scientist. "And Clint AKA Legolas and Nat's next to him," he continued as I turned my gaze to a man who looked as if he was in his 40's and a woman with piercing orange hair smiling softly back at me.

"Those two lovebirds are Wanda and Vision," Tony stated and I looked towards a beautiful young woman and an android standing behind her with his hands on her shoulders. I looked at a young boy sitting on the couch with his legs crossed, staring at me with intense curiosity. "Who's this?" I asked. "Peter, stop staring, you're freaking her out," Tony sighed. "Sorry, Mr Stark," the boys frantically replied. "That's Peter, AKA Spiderman but I STILL think it should be Spiderboy," Tony laughed.

"And there's Sam, the pigeon man," Stark teased. Sam walked up to me, gently grabed my hand and kissed it. "Actually it's the Falcon but no, pigeon man it is." Tony coughed to which Sam rolled his eyes and walked back to where he was standing. Tony spoke up again, "And last but not least, Mr James Buchanan Barnes AKA Bucky. And Y/n? Just a word of precaution, don't let him near your parents. He might end up killing them," he joked.

"Um, actually I haven't seen my parents in 10 years." Everyone looked at me with either a face full of curiosity or pity, giving me the signal to continue my somewhat depressing story. "I've had these powers since forever, and when I was younger I couldn't control them. And when my emotions got the better of me, so did my powers. I can control the elements, earth, fire, air and water. Well, at least now I can.

Whenever I'd get scared, the air around me would swirl around and form a sort of hurricane, shielding me from whatever frightened me. And when I was angry and I'd march off somewhere, the ground beneath me would crumble and crack." Everyone was listening closely at this point and were waiting eagerly for me to continue. "If I was sad or upset, a storm cloud would hover above me and start pouring down onto me. And if I was really upset, thunder and lightning would strike, scaring me more and fuelling the emotions swirling in the air around me.

My parents always hated my abilities and wanted to hide them from the rest of the world. They were ashamed of me and they didn't even try to hide it. I was labelled as the weird girl that no one wanted to hang out with in case I'd lash out again and hurt someone. And one day I did.

My sister was always there for me. She had beautiful blonde hair and the most intriguing green eyes. Everyone loved her. But no matter what anyone said about me, she was there to stand with me. She was my anchor. But one day it all changed. My powers were worse than usual, they were out of control, working together to make one massive disaster. The ground was shaking, the wind was flying everywhere, and rain was thundering down was lightning hit every few seconds.

My sister found me curled up in a ball, just laying on the ground outside our house. She tried calming me down and usually, she could, but she never got the chance to that day. She knelt down next to me but before she could speak, a lightning strike came and struck her, rendering her unconscious." At this point in the story, I had tears running down my face but I couldn't break down. I couldn't show my weakness because if I did, I might never get over it again.

"I couldn't wake her up. She was 17, she had her whole life ahead of her and I was the one that destroyed any chance of her living her life. I ran away from home that night. I couldn't face my parents, I couldn't face the look of disgust on their faces. I've been on the run ever since, only staying in one place for a few months at a time. So yeah, that's my life story." I gave the Avengers a weak smile before shooting my eyes away from their gaze.

After a few seconds, a soft voice broke the awkward silence. "You said you could control fire too right?" Sam stated. I controlled my breathing before replying, "When I was young, trying to control the fire element was impossible. I would end up burning something down. The fire circulates within me whereas the other elements come from the environment around me. For instance..." I concentrated and started moving my hands to where the kitchen was, focusing on the tap and making water gently flow out of it in an angelic ball and brought it toward the group before returning it to its place.

Afterwards, I made a small flame appear in my hands and bounced it around, mesmerized by the beauty of it. I placed it back in my hand and gently blew it out. The whole group watched entranced and bewildered by my abilities. "Wow," they said in unison. Tony rested his hand on my shoulder and whispered, "You're gonna do great kid." I smiled back at him while the rest of the team properly said hello and filed out of the room.

Bucky was the last to walk up to me with a worried look on his face and asked, "You do know Tony was joking about me killing your parents right?" I quickly nodded and smiled in return. "OK thank god, I swear I'm gonna kill him heh. See you around Y/n." As he walked away I heard him mumble, "You kill about 100 people and suddenly you're the guy to watch out for."

I giggled to myself before sighing happily. "I think I'm gonna like it here," I thought to myself.
