The dark umbrella of night still cast its shadow as Jiyong got dressed in the bathroom. With a few turns of the knobs, cold water poured out of the faucet and into his cupped hands. He lifted his hands quickly and carefully before the water splashed onto his face, a few drops straying away into his hair. Jiyong then took a second to look in the big mirror in front of him.
When he did, he felt sick to his stomach. It was always this feeling that crept up on him whenever he and his reflection made eye contact. The shame, the disgust, the fear: it all made him want to curl up in a hole and die.
"This is what you get for deciding to be a prostitute," he said to himself. He sighed, lowering and shaking his head, and fixed his hair as best as he could before exiting the bathroom.
Jiyong slid in his coat on and then walked over to the polished, wooden nightstand to grab his phone. The man, whose name he didn't know, was still fast asleep in the bed. After a few seconds of contemplation, Jiyong picked up the stranger's wallet and took out as much money as he saw fit for last night's events, which ended up being most of it. He normally would have been a little more reasonable and would have only taken half, but he figured the more he took, the more he would have left over after giving Dongguk his cut.
Once he counted it all in his hands, Jiyong folded it up into a small wad and shoved it in the back pocket of his skinny jeans. Then, with one last check to make sure he had everything, Jiyong left the hotel room.

The ringing of his alarm clock caused Seunghyun to groan loudly as he turned in his bed. The noise continued obnoxiously until he finally slammed his hand on top of the off button. Then, much to his dismay, he sat up and rubbed his eyes open before getting out of bed.
He immediately went into the bathroom and stopped in front of his sink, dragging his hands down his tired face before letting his hands hit the countertop. When he saw his own reflection staring back at him, all he saw was someone who was tired. He saw someone who was lonely. He saw someone who was tired of being lonely. Life as a detective was often lonely, though, and it was the life Seunghyun chose to live. If he could go back in time and make a better life for himself, he wouldn't even stop to think twice about it.
Finally able to, Seunghyun peeled his eyes away from the reflective glass and went over to the shower before turning it on. He stepped in after throwing the clothes on his body to the tile floor. After washing his hair and body thoroughly, Seunghyun got out of the shower and turned the previously running water off. A few drops still trickled out of the spout and into the hollow plastic as he dried his dripping hair. Upon wrapping the same towel around his waist, Seunghyun went back out into his bedroom and over to his closet to fetch his uniform.
Not even ten minutes could slip by before Seunghyun was dressed in his three-piece suit and black suspenders. His next and final stop was the kitchen, where he poured some leftover coffee into his travel mug, planning to heat it up at the station. Seunghyun checked the time on his wristwatch and saw it was too late to have a proper breakfast. So instead, he just grabbed a frozen breakfast sandwich out of his freezer and stuffed it in his bag.
Then, not wanting to waste another second, Seunghyun checked to make sure he had all his necessary belongings packed away safely in his work bag. Once he was sure, he grabbed his car keys off of the wooden hanger next to the door and began the journey to the office.

I went back and forth so many times, debating on whether or not I wanted to just delete this fic or add it to my list of stories to edit. Low and behold, here we are lol. It's not as bad as I remember it being, though, so hopefully I can get through relatively quickly like I did "In My Next Life." Shit took me two days, I'm still shocked lol. This does have more chapters than that one, though, but we'll see if I can accurately speed run this story.
But after this I'll be moving on to "Indebted To You" and "Only For Me" since those two stories are kind of connected. Then we move on to the big boys, "Sleeping With The Enemy" and "Sleeping With My Bandmate." Then after all that is done, I will finally focus on finishing my ongoing stories. Having these stories I want to edit has been an excuse for me not to work on them, so once they are all done, I won't have any excuses. That's the plan anyway.
Also, I've been thinking about reopening my KaiSoo one shot requests in the near future. I kind of miss writing them lol. I'll probably start taking requests not long after I finish editing, but if you have any requests you'd like to send me now, please don't hesitate! I won't get to them right away, though, just so you know. I'll most likely make a part in my one shot book for you to submit stuff, but DMs are always good too :)
