Seunghyun was extremely happy with this new chapter in his life, but all the love in the world couldn't get rid of the guilt he was feeling. Each and every day, he fell deeper for Jiyong, but he felt worse about himself. Like most lies, this one was eating Seunghyun alive. Although he hadn't known Jiyong for long, he could just tell he hadn't been this happy or comfortable in one place before. The fact that this lie he was carrying around had the potential to ruin all that absolutely killed him inside.
At times, he considered just taking Jiyong and himself away from everything and to a place where they could just start over. But the more he thought about doing that, the more he realized that that would cause more problems. He wouldn't dare to go back on a plan Chaerin was working so hard on, nor would he force Jiyong to leave Hanbin. So, it was either confess the truth and crush Jiyong or abandon the case and let down Chaerin, and Seunghyun didn't want to do either. But he feared he would no longer have a choice if he couldn't find a healthy medium soon, a medium where the damage was as minimal as possible.
Seunghyun woke up one morning from yet another heavenly night with Jiyong, the faint sound of the television playing in the living room hitting his ears as he got dressed. Jiyong was watching some American film when he got out there, his legs pressed up against his chest while his arms held them in place.
"Hey, come watch this with me," the younger male said once he glanced over at Seunghyun. Seunghyun yawned and stretched out his arms a little before walking over to the couch and plopping on it.
"What the hell is this?" Seunghyun asked with furrowed eyebrows once he saw a bunch of people dancing and singing in a bowling alley.
"Grease 2," Jiyong answered with a small smile. "I watched the first one while you were asleep and just had to watch the second, though I might be regretting it. It's not very good."
Seunghyun chuckled and listened silently for a moment. "This song is terribly cheesy, you do realize that right?" Seunghyun said, earning a small laugh from the other.
"Yes, I do," he replied. "But I like the cheesiness. You never see any cheesy movies nowadays, so this is kind of refreshing."
"I don't get that, but I'll just go with what you said," Seunghyun said, a faint grin on his lips. Jiyong laughed again, this time throwing his head back as he did. Seunghyun let out another yawn, this one being louder than the previous, and laid down on the couch, his head resting on Jiyong's lap.
"You know," Jiyong started as he gently ran his fingers through Seunghyun's bedhead, "I always used to watch these movies when I was little and I wished that my life was a movie." Seunghyun directed his eyes at Jiyong as he paused for a moment, his eyes still focused on the screen. "I still do sometimes. Everything just seems so perfect all the time. Even after something bad happens, you can be guaranteed they'll all make up by the end. I wish real life was like that."
"Me, too," Seunghyun said, his eyes falling again. "Me, too." And he wasn't lying in the slightest way. Jiyong smiled down at his older boyfriend before placing a light kiss on his forehead.
How much simpler life would be if it were a movie, Seunghyun thought. Then he could tell him the truth without worrying if he would ever come back.
