Out of everyone, Chihiro was the one I spent the most time with. Maybe it was because I felt like I owed her for taking care of me after the bomb incident. Or maybe it was because she was one of the only ones in this 'school' that I could look at without being instantly suspicious of their motives. Or maybe it was because she reminded me of Shi-Shu somewhat. But whatever the reason, I appreciated her company.

After we finished our investigation, I offered to let Chihiro sleep with me in my room. She happily agreed. So, that night, I slept on the floor with a blanket and spare pillows, while Chihiro slept on the bed.

It wasn't the most comfortable, sleeping on the hard, cold floor. But I doubt I would have slept any better if I was in this room all by myself, knowing that the there was still a possibility one of us could be planning a murder to get out of this place. Even though I was confident in my abilities to defend myself, I didn't know what the others here were capable of. What if someone who could easily defeat me, like Sakura was-

Stop. I chided myself. There's no use in worrying. Sakura wouldn't do that. And anyone dumb enough to actually murder someone to get out of here wouldn't be able to kill you anyway.

Right?

My thoughts were interrupted when I saw Chihiro squirming around from the corner of my eye. I was also a bit alarmed to hear her lightly sob. I turned over in my bed. The reason I invited her to sleep with me was because I could tell she still felt very nervous about this whole situation. And honestly who could blame her? What we were told today was scary stuff.

But I think being around me made everything a bit less nerve-racking for her. I guess she saw me as someone collected and strong, and seeing that made her feel safer. But the truth was, I was just as scared as her. I was just better at hiding it.

Day 2

That morning, I was awoken by Monokuma's annoying voice. Apparently, once nighttime was over, we were all required to get up, even though we had no classes to attend.

When I walked into the dining hall, still rubbing sleep from my eyes, the first thing I noticed was Chihiro and Mondo sitting next to each other. Huh. And odd pair.

Chihiro was bandaging up Mondo's hand while Mondo quietly grumbled in protest but let Chihiro do her thing. Chihiro explained to me that Mondo broke his hand after punching the metal frame that made up the door of the school this morning in an attempt to bust it open.

I was a bit shocked to hear that news at first, to be honest. I looked over at Mondo, who met my eyes briefly before averting them.

That means he must have still been searching when half of us have already given up. I smiled to myself. Even if he was searching just so he could get himself out of here and didn't care about the rest of us, I didn't expect that kind of perseverance from him.

But I did expect it from Taka, who felt that it was his 'duty' as the Ultimate Moral Compass to get us all out of here and report the person who's keeping us here to the police. He searched harder than any of us and seemed very serious about his goal. And did any of us have any faith that he would actually accomplish it? No, not really. But we still cheered him on, anyway. Sorry, Taka.

Besides Chihiro, another person I spent a lot of time with was Aoi, or Hina, as she told me to call her. Like Chihiro, Hina was nice to talk to. She was very determined and upbeat, which was honestly a bit of a refresher, since everyone else, including me, was pretty down in the dumps. If I had to describe the girl in two words it would be bubbly and cute. Like… really cute…
