Once five rolled around, Dream waited by the door for George to emerge from his room. He was dressed a tad bit nicer than usual, which wasn't saying much since he rarely had anything to dress up for. George left his room in nicer clothes than he wore other times, which made Dream smile.

"You ready to go?" Dream leaned against the door frame.

George scoffed. "Sure I am, smooth guy."

Dream opened the door, motioning for George to follow him. The two walked out to Dream's car, getting in and driving off.

"Where are you taking me anyways?" George looked outside the window as they drove, taking in his surroundings.

"To a restaurant." Dream laughed as he looked over with a grin. "Did you already forget George?"

George rolled his eyes. "I meant what restaurant, stupid."

Dream hummed. "Well, maybe it's a surprise."

George just scoffed before laughing. The rest of the relatively short ride, the two didn't speak, just listened to whatever was on the radio. As Dream approached a moderately fancy restaurant, George looked at it.

"Okay. I was worried I under-Dressed." George looked over to Dream. "I guess you would've been too."

"Hey!" Dream looked over, glaring with a smile. "I look fine, besides, I don't have very fancy clothes cause I'm a YouTuber."

"Which is odd, since you're what, a bajillionare?" George snickered as he watched Dream park.

"Just because I can dress like a millionaire doesn't mean I want to." Dream got out, looking around.

"Surprisingly not that busy." George did the same,

"Well it's the middle of the week, so it probably wouldn't be." Dream shrugged, motioning for George to follow him inside.

The two were sat at a table near a window, George pulling out his phone as he sat down. He seemed to look at something, sigh, and put his phone away.

"What's wrong?" Dream tilted his head, worried.

"Oh it's just-" George sighed, pulling out his phone again and checking it. "Worried about things back home I guess." He laughed softly, setting it on the table.

Dream hummed, putting his hand on George's. "I'm sure everything is perfectly fine."

George just scoffed and looked down with a smile on his face. "Easy for you to say. You barely leave your house anyways"

Dream tried to act offended, which caused George to laugh.

"You play Minecraft for a living! You need to go out more."

"You're one to talk, seeing how pale you are." Dream leant forward, leaning his head on his hand.

"That's 'cause it's never sunny in Britain." George sat back in his chair, crossing his arms.

"Well, whatever you're worried about, you can talk to me about it." Dream sat up straight, George's expression softening.

"I.. thanks Dream." George smiled, which caused Dream to panic a bit.

The rest of their "date" was more or less just talking about their regular lives, and making jokes about whatever was trending on Twitter at the moment. After eating and deciding to leave. Dream took George to his car, motioning to get in.

"I have a surprise. C'mon."

George just rolled his eyes and followed with a chuckle. Dream began driving, noticing the sun being close to out of sight. He started speeding down a secluded forest road, one that led to a place Dream knew well. George looked over to Dream, who had a focused look on his face.

"We're not in a rush, are you just trying to brag about your nice car?" George grinned a bit, leaning against the window.

"I just like going fast on this road. Straight shot, no cops, it's perfect." Dream laughed, continuing to focus.

A few moments later, the two came upon a large empty field filled with various flowers. Dream parked his car, getting out and smiling.

"Perfect timing. Sun's just about down." Dream ran to the trunk, where he kept a blanket for emergencies.

George got out, looking around. "A plains biome IRL. Cool. So what are we doing?" He walked over, hand on his hip.

"Stargazing." Dream smiled, grabbing George's hand and leading him into the field.

About 100 feet from the road, Dream set out the blanket, laying down on it. He patted next to it for George to sit next to him.

The two layed there, watching the sky as it grew darker and darker.

"I used to come here all the time in my free time to blow off steam. You can yell for hours and no one would hear." Dream watched the stars begin to appear, still amazed as he was the first time he saw them.

"It's nice. There used to be a place like it where I used to live as a kid. I'd go there with friends and just do kid things." George laughed a bit at the memory.

"I haven't been here in so long. Always too busy." Dream sighed.

"Well.. that just makes when you can go all the more special." George looked over, smiling.

There was a silence between the two.

"It is a bit weird, innit?" George spoke, which caused Dream to flinch.

"What is?"

"This." George motioned to the two of them. "Us. Like I'm the happiest I've been in.. Forever! But something feels off. Maybe it's because we're avoiding it."

"Avoiding what?" Dream turned to his side to face George.

"What are we?" George looked over, making eye contact that sent chills down Dream's spine.

"I.. Thought we were together now." Dream sat up, looking down to George. "Is that not what this is?"

George stuttered a bit, trying to find something to say. Dream cut him off.

"You told me you loved me. What was that just you messin with me?" Dream started getting aggressive. He couldn't handle getting rejected, let alone led on and played with.

"No! I was telling the truth!" George just scoffed, sitting up as well. "I just feel like you're trying to go into things faster than I'm ready for! These.. Dates and holding hands and-" George tucked his knees into his chest, covering his face. "I don't want that. Not yet. I just.. I want to be able to be with you. Just to enjoy your company without worrying about if I'm being romantic enough!"

Dream was taken aback, thinking to himself for a moment. Was he doing things wrong? Was this bad?

"It's not like the feelings aren't there, Dream." George continued. "I just.. I practically just met you.. Figuratively or something. I wanted to come here to see you and Sapnap. I wasn't expecting what happened at the cliff."

"So it was a mistake?" Dream paused, looking down.

"You're not listening!" George yelled out in anger. "Get over yourself for once!"

The two went quiet. George reached out, putting a hand on top of Dream's.

"Dream I-" George took a shallow breath. "I like you. I do. And I want to make this work, but you have to understand where I'm coming from. I saw you for the first time less than a week ago and now you want to be something that I don't. Hell I'm still afraid to be spotted while I'm with you and your face gets leaked!" He sighs and looks down at their intertwined hands. "I want to make this work."

"Then what do you want to do?" Dream still had a stern, and slightly frustrated look on his face, but he was trying to listen and understand as best he could.

"None of this.. Flirting and date stuff.. Not until we decide to go public about it. Too hard trying to not get caught. I just want to take things slow." George looked up to Dream.

"I'll try." Dream sighed, smiling softly.

George smiled back, looking up.

"The stars are nice tonight."

"Yeah. They are."
