What if...

Cho: What if Harith didn't come after Harley? What if he left there to rot? What if I didn't intervene and get caught up in a lot of madness I call life? What if-
Kazuha: Okay, Cho, that's enough. We get it. Life sucks.
Cho: You know, for being my boyfriend's brother I didn't seem to agree with you on anything until now.
Kazuha: ...on the bright side, we finally did agree on something. But seriously, stop with the "What ifs". It's getting annoying, and I'm sure the readers would rather go ahead to the story.
Cho: ...fine. -_- But a last what if.
Kazuha: Just go on...

What if life didn't give a chance for anyone? Anyone at all...

No one's pov

Student 1: Didn't you hear the news?
Student 2: Yeah...it's so sad. To think he died so young.
Student 3: It's Hanahaki! Oh why does such a thing exist!? It's cruel!
Student 1: We can't do anything now that he's dead. I wonder if he will go to heaven.
Student 2: He wouldn't go to the Abyss and become a demon, right? He was such a good boy, wasn't he?
Student 1: Perhaps.
Student 3: Such a shame. Harley has a lot of friends. I wonder how they are coping with this.

As he was walking down the halls, Harith was listening to their conversation.
A bouquet of white tulips. It's been days since the discovery of his corpse.
The smell of blood mixed with flowers was so strong.
Harith hadn't notice the smell only 3 days after the confirmed date of his death.
By then, his corpse was barely recognizable.
I'm guessing the decomposers did a number on the dead matter.
After finding the corpse, it was clear that the cause of death was none other than the so-called fictional disease, Hanahaki.
A disease that makes flowers grow in one's lung and continues to do so until they die.
Born from one-sided love, or if they don't know if the person likes them, it'll only be cured if the feelings reciprocate.

It's such a shame. If Harley had been a bit more confident, then maybe...
But it's too late. He was gone, and gone forever.
Nothing can change that, and that's how cruel life can be. It doesn't give a chance.
After the incident, Nana didn't seem to open up to anyone. She became a shut-in.
Diggie has been busy creating all sorts of inventions. Perhaps creating a time machine.
It won't be useful because after Harley broke the time rules, time portals won't open anymore.
Lylia and Cyclops keep getting obsessed in their studies. Probably to feel how Harley felt.
Angela and Chang'e keep up a facade. On way or another, it'll break.
Ruby and Dyrroth tried hard, but it seems that they broke up.
They couldn't stand the loss of their friend, and it got in the way of their relationship.
Now as for Harith...

Harith went to the closed bathroom. It became a burial sight for Harley.
When he approached there, he could see flowers and "I'm sorry for you loss" cards.
In the middle of everything, there laid Harley's hat, cards and staff: his most prized possessions.
Bending down, Harith placed the tulips and quietly whispered; supposedly to Harley.
"I'm sorry for not being there for you, when you needed someone."

Wow. An angst for my birthday? I am clearly not sane. :D But it's short due to the fact I had gotten writer's block, AGAIN. I would draw the final scene but...I'm lazy. But anyways, that is it for this chapter- well, alternate ending. I do hope you enjoyed it. Cho signing out...
