We both stood tensed in utter silence. He looked at me as if I had three heads, and I looked at him with an unexplainable expression.
I don't even know why I said that. I just got nervous thinking of the time left that it made me say those things.
"Right." I broke the quiet time. "I'm sorry. I have to go. See you tomorrow." And I left as he continued to stand there gazing at me.
I walked the corridors at a slow pace. My head was running. How can I tell my parents? How can I not let them panic? How can I let them accept my fate?
As I was nearing the door, Allen shouted. "Alexa! See you tomorrow—see you tomorrow as my girlfriend, right?"
My eyes widened, and I looked back. What is he saying? "W-what are you talking about? It was supposed to be a joke." I blushed.
He walked to catch up and smiled. "Joke? Really? I thought we're going to date. It looks like you don't even want to."
"I-I mean. A-are you—do you even know what you are talking about?" I was blushing hard, I can just pop anytime. He laughed and dropped an arm on my shoulder.
"I know what I was talking about. So, I'll see you tomorrow as my girlfriend?"
I bit my lip and smiled, facing downwards. "S-sure. Okay. Boyfriend." It sounded so foreign.
The next morning, my alarm rang. I was already awake. Hell, I didn't even sleep a wink. I can not stop thinking about what happened yesterday.
No. It was true. But no. I will not hope nor expect. I will also not trust his words. Though, I know he's a good guy, but we never know.
I went to the bathroom to have a quick shower—I made sure to really shampoo my hair. I brushed my teeth, wore some deodorant, and got dressed.
It was autumn, so I wore my All Time Low's: Don't Panic jumper and my dark blue high waisted jeans. As I went downstairs, I wore my brown Uggs and grabbed a sandwich from the kitchen.
My parents are usually out at 5 in the morning and be back home at about 10 in the evening. They are both nurses, so that explains it.
After walking for about 20 minutes, I reached school. As always, I'm too early.
I walked inside and went to my locker to get some things. Maybe I'll just wait for Charlotte here. She's always late.
I leaned on my locker and surfed the internet on my phone. Wow. I really missed watching Brooklyn-99. I better rewatch it later at home.
"Baby." Someone called. My heart pumped faster, and my breathing hard and quick. Was I hearing right? Still, I did not look up. I could be imagining.
Minutes later, someone laced its arm on my waist and hugged me. "I see you're too busy looking up Bullet For My Valentine that you did not hear me calling."
I looked up, and Allen was smiling down at me and holding me. His friends are beside us. Of course. "E-erm. Y-yeah. Bittersweet Memories. My favourite. Waking the Demon, and you know."
Allen chuckled. "And Pariah, I pressume." I'm just thankful he knows the band and I too because we both will be doomed.
"When did you guys even start dating?" His friend asked with a curious expression. "I thought Allen was calling for Hexy over there—because you know."
Hexy. The cheerleader. The nasty bitch. The daddy's girl. The bully.
I blushed and looked down. I don't even know how to answer that. Should I say today? Yesterday? I don't know.
"Alexa and I started seeing each other about a month ago. She wanted to keep it a secret but you know, I told her it's about time the world knows." Allen explained in an ease. Man. He's good.
"A month ago?" The other one asked. "Did you just had sex with Penny from Fayette County that time? Are you saying you cheated?"
Allen's hold on my waist dropped. ". . . Well, we both were having troubles that time. And I was drunk, Ryan. Alexa knows about it. We fought but now we're okay."
He looked down and smiled. And he did the most unexpected thing. He kissed me on my mouth. I just stood there frozen.
