During last periods, Allen and I are classmates. When it was already dismissal, I pulled him inside the empty room.

"Thanks for today." I told him. He smiled and nodded. "I mean, you're not even supposed to know all those things Charlotte said. We're not even together-together."

"What do you mean?" He asked, leaning. I stepped back.

"Well, y-you know. We're just pretending. Pretending. We are just pretending, right?" I said, not looking directly in his eyes.

Allen chuckled. "Oh, Alexa. You're breaking my heart. You're making me girlfriend-less? And who ever said about pretending?"

I was lost for words. He just continued to laugh at me and he then held my hand. "Come on. Let's get you home. When are you going to introduce me to your parents, by the way?"

Parents. Crap. I haven't even asked Charlotte how to tell them. "Oh. Speaking of my parents, I still haven't told them anything about my condition."

Allen stopped walking and looked back. "I'm sorry. You know, I still really don't know your condition. I just know that you-you know, your time is limited. You haven't really told me about it."

I bit my lip. "I-I really don't want to talk about it today. I still have to tell my parents later. I'll fill you in about it tomorrow, okay?"

"Alright." He said. "I'll just be here if you wanted someone to hear you. I'm just one call away. And speaking about that, I still don't have your number. What kind of boyfriend am I, right?"

"A stupid one." I laughed and took his phone. I punched in my number and he saved it under: Baby❤️. I rolled my eyes and we continued to walk. I still cannot believe this is happening.

When we reached the parking space, Hexy was there standing by his car. She was chewing a gum as she tapped away on her phone.  I stopped from my tracks and faced him. "I think I'm just going to walk home. Looks like you have a visit from someone."

"Who?" He asked and looked around. "Oh. Hexy. Don't mind her. Let's just go there."

"Isn't she head over heels for you? I don't want to ruin her moment. I-I mean, I do not want to disturb you both." I giggled, uncomfortably. I heard Allen scoffed.

"What are you talking about? You're my girlfriend, right? You're being jealous." He held my hand firmly as we were nearing his car.

I sighed and mumbled. "I'm not really your girlfriend, Allen."

He looked at me in disbelief but continued on walking to his car. "Hexy. What are you doing here?"

Hexy looked up and smiled, but as soon as she saw me with holding hands with Allen, it dropped. She cleared her throat. "Alexa."

"Hi." I muttered, not meeting her eyes. They wanted to kill me.

"Hexy, what brings you here?" Allen asked. Hexy's face then shifted to a happy one. What a fake.

Hexy then touched Allen's arm in a sexual way. "There is a party later tonight at Macy's. I'm wondering if you wanted to come--as my plus one."

Allen sniggered. "I have a girlfriend, Hexy. I can't be your plus one."

Hexy looked over at me and back to Allen. "Yeah. Whatever. See you later." And then she walked away, making sure to sway her hips.

Allen opened the passenger door for me and I entered. I really have to talk to him about this whole charade. Why is he even taking this too far?

I mean, I know I did said that he should date me but I did not even mean it and not in this kind of way. This is all too complicated.

He got in on the driver's side and he turned on the engine. I looked outside and noticed the leaves falling from the tree. Autumn. It's like my life, falling in pieces until nothing's left.

"Allen, I wanted to ask you about this. About us. What are you doing?"

"I thought you said we should date. Now we're dating and now it's as if you wanted out."

"Because it's not even real! We're not." I suddenly burst out. "It doesn't work that way. And I didn't even knew the consequences of those words I said to you. I'm sorry if I am ruining your life."
