Girl meets Maya's heartbreak

The gang finally adjusted with their new schedule and though they missed smackle they were happy that she Skyped with them once in a while.
The summer holidays were coming soon and Riley knew it was time that Josh told Maya about his girlfriend.
Josh was coming to meet them at Riley's house and Maya was kind of excited to see him.
*Bay window*
"Maya I know you have started hoping and I'm so happy that you did but promise me that even if anything bad happens you won't lose hope."
"Why Riley what's the matter! I can see you've been hiding something everytime I mention Josh and today you're being more weird than usual about it! So spill it!" Maya demanded.
"Peaches Josh said he wants to talk to you"
"About what?"
"You can ask him yourself, he's here"
"Umm okay "
Josh and Maya were sitting together at the bay window. The gang arrives at Riley's house and she tells them the whole story.
" I can't believe this!" Zay exclaimed.
"So does he loves that girl?" Lucas asked Riley.
"I think so and Maya's gonna be crushed i know but she won't show and she might stop hoping after this."
"We won't let that happen" Farkle said.
Few minutes later Josh and Maya arrive.
"Maya are you ok?"
"Riley I told you hope is for suckers and today I have been proved right."
"Maya but.."
"Riley it's ok , it's not like we actually dated and I'll be find I just need to be alone."
"Lucas please make sure Riley doesn't worry too much i know she's going to be more stressed than I am" Maya said.
"Yeah I will but you sure you ok ?"
"Yes I will be. I'll see you guys tomorrow."

Riley and Lucas are talking at the bay window.

"Lucas I can't see her like this. She was finally happy with me not going Shawn being her dad and suddenly this."
"I know Riley but I also know that she's one of the strongest people I know."
"I just wish she meets someone soon. And who's worth her. Someone like you Lucas"
"Really like me?"
"Yes of course. You accept every side of hers and you know her well and I think you also like the nicknames she gave you."
"Yeah I do."
"See she needs someone who get that side of hers and someone except me."
"Riley she will find it"

Meanwhile Maya has been crying laying on her bed since what feels like eternity.

" Hey kiddo you're ok?"
"No I'm not."
"Well that's good because I got chocolate icecream and it shouldn't be wasted"
Maya finally smiled.
The next day at school everyone thought Maya won't come but she did.
"Peaches you're ok?"
"Yeah I am. I talked to Shawn and I'm better now. "
"He's good at that" Farkle acknowledged.

Lucas felt really bad about Maya and tried to talk to her about this all through the chemistry class but somehow couldn't gather the courage to. He knew that Josh being there somehow made it easy for Maya to let him go to Riley and so now this bothered him more than anyone.
"Lucas are you ok, you look weird" Maya finally asked.
"Yeah I'm fine"
"You don't look fine! Did you have a fight with Riley?"
"No everything is great."
"Good, I don't want her to go through the same thing"
That was it. He had to say it.
"Maya you're great, don't ever let anyone else make you feel like you're less and believe me josh missed a great chance so if anything I feel bad for him."
"Wow huckleberry thanks"
"Hey !!! You finally called me a name"
"What do you mean?"
"Since we came back from the ski lodge you've been calling me Lucas so many times I thought I did something wrong."
"Oh you noticed. Well I thought it would be weird since I made fun of you because I liked you"
"So now it isn't weird?"
"Nah I realised I can make fun of you whether I like you in that way or not."
"Well I'm glad."
"Thanks."
"For what?"
"For distracting me."
"Oh you noticed."
" Yes huckleberry I notice you now chill."

*One week later*

Lucas went to Texas because Pappy Joe was ill so he missed the classes for a whole week. Riley had been spending a lot of time with Maya to make sure she gets over Josh but something still bothered her.
"Maya it's been more than a week did you really have so strong feelings for him?"
" I don't know but he was the first guy I ever liked and I've only liked huckleberry apart from him so you can understand my situation."
"I'm sorry Maya. I really hope you get someone like Lucas though. He's so kind and considerate. He never judges anyone and I'm so lucky to have him. But..."
"But?! Are you saying you have doubts about Lucas? Riley you've been with him for almost a year now !"
" I'm not having doubts Maya but sometimes I feel that being friends with him and being in a relationship with him is totally same. I don't feel any difference. And since that day it's been more casual."
"But isn't this good? You still are close and not awkward like before"
" That's the thing ! We're close but just like when we were friends and till now nothing has happened you know!"
"Oh!"
"Yeah oh!"
"Well you should talk to him Riley go and say what you feel ! He's your boyfriend ! Communicate for god's sake"
"Ok,I will".
"Hey Riley you've got a good guy and I thought I did too but now I don't so keep him ok "
"Maya..."
"Don't worry I'm not getting depressed this was my last comment on Josh so I'm done with the heartbreak."
