Something was wrong. Nobody showed any emotion to their mentors or parental figures' deaths. I mean I can't be one to judge because my dad is dead along with the rest of the Justice League, and I didn't even blink. We were suiting up to go to the Arctic and take out a lone ship. I pulled on my white gear and met everyone at the Bioship. After a very tense flight, we arrived at the Fortress of Solitude where the scout was. Everyone went into stealth mode and snuck up on the ship. I was near Superboy. We disabled the weapons structural links to the ship. I heard a high pitched noise and saw Wolf knock Connor out of the way.

"Wolf!" I shouted as the snow colored canine disappeared in a flash of light. My eyes narrowed as Connor went back to the weapon. I stood next to him and helped him carefully extract the weapon. M'gann and Superboy went to integrate the canon into the Bioship as two more scouts came into view.

The Bioship wasn't able to fire so we were making a tactical retreat.

*Got you covered. Get inside, I'm almost there.* Artemis shouted as she shot at the two scouts. One was completely destroyed. She just clipped the other one. She didn't see the clipped ship charging up behind her.

*Artemis, look out!* I shouted to the archer. She turned around to fire, but disintegrated in a flash of light.

"ARTEMIS!" M'gann and I screamed. My eyes glowed dangerously. My hands flashed purple, and I pulled apart the stupid ship that had taken Artemis. I stalked back to the Bioship. I barely registered Wally making death threats to every single alien. If Artemis hadn't just died in front of me, I might have teased him about liking her. The flight back was silent except for Wally smacking things in frustration and M'gann crying softly. I wanted to comfort both of them, but right now was not the time.

After heading back to the Hall, we found Martian Manhunter, lost the Bioship and Kaldur, and Wally went slightly crazy with the thought that the beams used to disintegrate everyone were actually teleporting them into the mothership. I felt bad for him. He was allowing himself to hope and it really was a stretch. Why would they kidnap us? There really is no reasoning besides Wally using this new far-fetched idea as a coping mechanism. I sighed as Robin explained his plan to get everyone out. Everyone else believed him, but I saw the subtle signs that he knew the mission held no purpose. The question was: What was his real plan?

Miss Martian and Martian Manhunter density shifted through the mothership's outer wall. Superboy used one of their own cannons and opened fire as a distraction. I held onto KF and created a bubble around Robin as the speedster ran and leaped over a chasm to get to a launch bay for the scout ships. We slipped in between some canisters and waited for the next ship to pass.

*Way's clear. Go!* Robin ordered. We sprinted down the hanger and hid from a monitor. Another one came up behind us, but the Martians took care of it. Robin waved us towards the power source. I tapped my gauntlet and a holo-map popped up. I scanned for League and Team signals and came up with nothing.

M'gann slowed and wobbled for a second. A vision of Connor getting blasted in the back flashed through my mind. "He's gone." I realized. M'gann stopped and shook her head.

*No...* She dropped to the floor and started crying. I ran over and picked her up.

*It's alright. We'll find him with Artemis. I know it.* Wally said, still grasping for any slivers of hope.

*No, Wally. We won't. I've been scanning this entire thing for League or Team signals. There are none. They're gone.* I said. I was being blunt and insensitive, but I needed him to see things the way they were.
