Spook 5 - The Misaki stairs P.2

No.2 of the seven mysteries The Misaki Stairs.

They lure students to the netherworld

And tear their bodies into thousands, if not tens of thousands of pieces

"This is the netherworld. The missing students should be here somewhere although I can't guarantee their well-being." Hanako said.

"Here.?" Yashiro questioned.

'The atmosphere here is completely different from the one at school.' (Y/n) thought to herself.

The group went up some stairs.

Yashiro saw a puddle and touched it. She looked at her hand to see the scales she ever so hated were present.

"Hey Hanako!" Kou called. "There's nothing here! I thought something was gonna tear us apart."

"They wouldn't do it right away. Where's the fun if you end it before it even starts?" Hanako turned to the three and wiggled his fingers "Whittling away at you ever so slowly.. That's the fun part.!"

"Y-you're sick" Kou replied.

"Well, yeah. We're the seven mysteries. As the seven pillars that govern the supernaturals of this school we must be known by as many people as possible. That's why we frighten people. Think about it- nice creatures that do happy things.. Or scary monsters that do terrible things.." Hanako smiled at the three behind him. "The scary ones are muuuch more likely to make an impression, am I right?.. Still No. 2's gone too far this time. We have to put a stop to this nonsense immediately."

RRRRRING* RRRRRRING*

"A ph-phone..?" Yashiro said.

RRRRRRING* RRRRRING*

Yashiro walked over to the phone and picked it up. Everyone huddled close to the phone. "H-hello.? Um, who's speaking.?"

"It's Misaki"

"A phone call from one of the seven mysteries." (Y/n) whispered to herself.

"I had been teaching my students in the schoolhouse at the top of these stairs. But I was killed here, torn to pieces. Right in the place where you are standing. Say would you please look for my body? I can't do anything as I am now.."

"W-wait! where's Aoi..?"

"First my arm. My right arm.. That is the arm I use to hold the chalk for writing letters. Do hurry. Class will be starting soon" Misaki hung up.

"She hung up." Yashiro said.

The four heard some noises and looked up the stairs in the direction they were coming from. An hourglass full of sand flipped over.

"Hmph. so we have a time limit?" Kou said.

"Do you think we can go on if we put the arm there.." Yashiro pointed to a shrine with a sign atop of it saying : Place arm here.

"Dunno? But I'm sure something will happen." Hanako said.

"Forget it senpai! It was just a prank call. Let's ignore it and keep going!" Kou told Yashiro.

"I wouldn't recommend that. See, we seven mysteries each have our own domain. And in that domain, we're unbeatable. In my case, that domain would be the toilets. There's no telling what could happen if you step off the path and make her mad. But of course I won't stop you if you want to find out." Hanako said as he placed a hand on Kou's shoulder.
