Spook 10 - The young exorcist P.2

"He is a dangerous supernatural. I'm going to exorcize him right here and now. So if you would get out of the way...?" Teru asked.

Kou stood in front of Hanako and (Y/n). "N-no.."

"Oh, honestly." Teru sighed. He took off his bracelet and tossed it at Kou, the bracelet expanded and wrapped itself around Kou. "I'm sorry to hear that."

"Wha..?" Kou fell to the ground. "Teru-nii!"

Hanako opened his eyes. He felt dizzy.

"Hanako-kun.." (Y/n) looked at him with relief. "Thank god.. You're awake Hanako-kun."

"Haven't seen you since yesterday, school mystery." Teru said. "Oh.. (Y/n)-chan.. I was hoping you weren't going to get involved..Too late now I guess"

Hanako stood up weakly, he got in front of (Y/n) to block anything that comes her way. "Leave her out of this.." Hanako weakly said. Teru's sword was pressed against his neck. "HAKUJOUD-"

Teru's sword had stopped the wisp from coming near Hanako. "I won't let you summon your tsueshiro. I wouldn't want to make this fight anymore difficult." Teru said.

'A lightning cage! At this rate he won't be able to get away.. Still.. The spirit blade is an anti-evil artifact that's mainly only for attack. It shouldn't be that good at controlling lightning, so how..?' Kou thought.

Hanako brought out his knife and sent Teru a glare.

"What a scary face." Teru smiled. "No matter how you try to cover it up..in the end, you can never hide what you truly are.. A troublesome ghost that goes unstable at the drop of a hat.. And harms the living at the slightest provocation. Self-serving and violent.. You took life from another.. And yet you cling stubbornly to the near shore and refuse to accept your own death. To be perfectly honest.. It's painful to look at." Teru said.

Hanako was about to charge at him, but Teru kicked him. And Hanako dropped his knife. He went to grab it only to see blood all over his hand. Not his blood, nor Teru's. It was (Y/n)s. She blocked Hanako from getting stabbed by sacrificing her own hand.

"(Y-y/n)" Hanako whispered.

"(Y/n)-chan..what are you doing..?" Teru asked the girl.

Kou was too stunned to say a word.

"Hanako..Is my friend.. I don't want anyone else I care for to disappear again.. Teru stop it please.." She muttered, her hand still impaled by Teru's sword.

"You're acting like a fool.. You should stop it." Teru pulled the sword out of her hand. (Y/n)s hand was now gushing blood. He pushed her aside. "Don't get in my way.."

This time it was Hanako's hand that was stabbed. Teru Electrocuted the ghost.

"(Y/N)!! HANAKO!! TERU-NII!!" Kou shouted. 'I've watched Teru-nii fight my whole life. I know how this goes. He knocks his opponent off balance to give himself an opening. Hurts them with spiritual energy. Then ZAP!! The lightning goes through the spirit blade and destroys his opponent's soul directly from the inside. So it's best to stay out of range. But it doesn't look like Hanako can get away.. And (Y/n)-chan is bleeding out..I don't care how powerful an evil spirit Hanako is. If he gets zapped enough times, he's gonna get obliterated!' Kou began to move and shift in the beads, desperate to get out. 'If this keeps going, Teru-nii is going to exorcize him!! I have to do something!! I have to.' He stopped moving around and looked in the cage. Hanako was getting zapped, (Y/n) passed out on the ground with her hand bleeding non-stop. 'Wait. Do I? Really? He definitely wasn't acting normal back there.. And Teru-nii says we should exorcize him. Maybe I've been wrong all along.. Yeah.. I'm nothing. I'm weak. I've never exorcised a supernatural before. And I've always wanted to be like Teru-nii.. A hero fighting for what's right.. So this is probably the right thing to-'

"AAAAAGGGGHH!" Hanako yelled.

"Just stop fighting it. You've been in the near shore for how many years now? It's about time you accepted your punishment."

"Ha...ha-ha-ha-ha. Punishment?" Hanako said.

"What?"

"You living people are all the same. You all think dying..disappearing..is the best way to atone. As if the life of a murderer could ever atone for anything." Hanako looked up, his eyes were tearing up. "DESTROYING ME WOULD ONLY BE A RELEASE! I STILL HAVE THINGS I NEED TO DO HERE!"

'Things he needs to do?' Kou's eyes widened. 'He's a supernatural, but he helps people. He protects us. Is all of that his way of atoning? No, he's just saying that. I can't know if that's true. Maybe it really would be better.. To stop thinking about it.. But..' Kou's hands were on the beads. 'I just can't do that!!'

(Y/n) woke up. Her head hurt, she looked at her hand. It was a deep cut. It could've went through her hand if Teru hadn't stopped when he did. She looked over to see Hanako with tears in his eyes. She stood up on wobbly legs. 'Hanako-kun..'

Kou got out of the beads and looked at (Y/n). She was slowly walking over to where Teru and Hanako were. He got up and ran over.

"I see.. You have your own issues that you're working through. But." Teru stabbed Hanako in the chest. "It doesn't matter. None of it. You're a really dangerous supernatural. So I'll exorcize you. That's all there is to it. It's over."

Before Teru's lightning could zap Hanako, Kou grabbed the sword and pulled it out of Hanako's chest. Kou's hand was now bleeding as well.

(Y/n) walked over to Hanako and plopped down on her knees next to him.

"K.."

"You- how.. When did you break free?" Teru asked Kou.

Kou pushed at his brother. "Kou!! Stop this!!" Kou had Teru's sword in his hand. "Kou.. you're bleeding.."

"STOP TREATING ME LIKE AN IDIOT!!" Kou yelled in his face. "I KNOW I'M WEAK! AND I'M A LOT STUPIDER THAN YOU! BUT IT'S NOT TRUE THAT I DON'T HAVE TO THINK ABOUT ANYTHING!! I CAN FIGURE OUT THAT MUCH!!" Kou began to cry. "You're right, I know next to nothing about him. And I think it was totally wrong of me to decide whether he was good or bad, before I know more. But exorcising all the supernaturals just because 'supernaturals are dangerous' I just think there's something wrong with that.." Kou wiped his eyes. "It's gonna take some time.. I'm gonna get stronger, just like you, Teru-nii." Kou walked infront of Hanako who had (Y/n)s head in his lap, (Y/n) passed out due to blood loss. "And then I'm gonna decide what to do. If i need to, I'll exorcize him! So keep your hands off him!"

"He may attack a student tomorrow." Teru said.

"I-I-I-I-I'll keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't! I'll take responsibility!!" Kou said, waving his arm. "Teru-nii?"

"Honestly.. We should exorcize him right now. But I don't want you to hate me. So all right. Don't forget you said that. But I'm only doing this once Kou.."

"You heard him. As of today, I'm keeping an eye on you." Kou placed Hanako's hat on top of his head. "Are..are you still crying?"

Hanako held up a bottle of fake tears. "You've got a long way to go before you can exorcize me if you're falling for this little trick."

"We should get (Y/n)-chan to the nurse." Kou said.

"They'll be asking what happened so it's best if we don't take her to the nurse." Hanako said. Hanako picked up (Y/n) bridal style. "Ok kid.. Meet me in the bathroom." and with that Hanako took (Y/n) to his boundary to get her bandaged up.
