"Wait, hold on. Can you bring these up? I'm going to go talk to Tommy." I say half way through pushing the suitcases up.

"What? Why?"

"Cause I feel bad. Plus I don't want him hating me. I need to be the good guy."

"Right..." He says. "Make it quick."

I sprint up the steps, taking the first right to Tommy's door.

My hand reaches up to knock on the door, but I catch the sounds of murmuring in the back.

I blink in confusion and press my ears against the door.

"Toby, he doesn't let George make his own choices." I hear between sniffles.

"Yes I understand that, but he's very mean to both of us. I think George wants to be my friend, not Wilbur's."

I try to hold in my giggles, after all this is a child.

"Fine. I won't punch him. But instead could I-"

Before I could let him finish his sentence I creaked the door open.

"Tommy?" I whispered.

I hear a small gasp at the end of the room and whispers following it.

"Toby I have to go, George is here. Goodbye." And then I hear the sound of him putting down his phone.

"Gogy! Did you tell Wilbur you wanted to stay with me?" He asks, smiling like he hadn't just cried.

"No, he wouldn't let me. Sorry." I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Shit."

"Woah hold on Tommy! We don't say those words!" I say shocked.

"Wilbur said it when he stubbed his toe yesterday. I like saying it."

"Does your mother know?"

"No."

"Okay, you can say it. But only when I am there. Nowhere else. Deal?"

"Okay."

"Good."

We stare in silence at each other.

"So... You want to show me that Batman costume?"

"YES! It's so cool, it even has a belt that comes with it. Look, they gave me a gun!"

I laugh at the plastic gun in his small hands.

"Well, that's something. Wish I had it."

The moment I utter those words out, Tommy's eyes spark with glee.

"George! You can wear my costume!!"

I laugh again, "I wish I could but I don't think it can fit me."

"Right. Oh, I'm going to wear it on Halloween! I'm going to blow her mind, she's going to want to be Batgirl because of me." He says proudly.

"Who? Ohh looks like Tommy's got a girl!"
