Chapter 6: New beginnings and trying to trust again

New beginnings and trying to trust again 

This morning starts off so different, instead of my mom yelling to wake me I am waking up to a light knocking at my door.

"Honey it's time to get up, your breakfast will get cold."

Maybe mom is trying to be different. I get up and get ready, a nice shirt and some blue jeans with my sneakers. I walk down stairs to see just mom.

"Here you go, I made you some pancakes with strawberries on top."

wow she actually cooked me breakfast, I haven't been able to sit down and just eat in forever since never. "

Thanks mom it's really good"

while scarfing it down... as I am sitting I notice I haven't seen father in a day now. I wonder where he went, yes I don't like being around him but he is still my father. Anyway, I am sure I will see him again at some point. After breakfast my mom offered to drive me to school. When we arrive at school I get out looking around. I was going to walk into school when I heard my name being called. I look and look around for whoever is yelling my name across the parking lot. Like I need more people knowing who I am. I finally spot who is yelling my name and it's Alexander. As he is jogging over to me I am looking around and almost everyone outside is looking at us.

"Can you like stop yelling my name across the school parking lot, people are staring." Before he can say anything else I run into the school building not liking all the eyes on me.

Alexander runs and catches up to me, "sorry I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable."

Of course he thinks that. " I wasn't uncomfortable because of you, it was because of everyonelooking". I look up to him and it looks like what I just said clicks with him. I grab the things out of my locker and walk to class. When I notice a lot of whispers and stares.

"What is he doing with her, who even is she? Is she new? I never noticed her before. She reeks of freak." Everyone keeps asking basically the same questions.

"Alexander..."

"Please call me Alex," he tells me. I like that.

"Ok Alex, why is everyone staring" I ask.

"I don't know, maybe because I am walking with you to your class and I didn't even walk Vic to her class".

Then why is he walking me to class? I know I don't like all this attention. But sure enough he ignored everyone and their whispers and walked me all the way to first period.

"Bye Hope I will be back here after class to walk you to your next class." 

Sure enough he was there after every class. It's now lunch time and Alex walks me there and stands in line with me. When I was about to walk to my normal back table to be alone he grabs my wrist " come sit with me and my friends".

"Sure why not" I mean I am already the laughing stalk of the school so what else can go wrong. We walked together to his table,

"Guys this is Hope, Hope this is Mark,James, Jaspher (his twin brother.) You already know Vic. Those girls are her friends."

He leans in and whispers " I don't really remember their names'' which causes me to giggle and all he does is smirk. We sit by each other when one of the twins ask me a question. I don't really know which one since they are basically the same person.

"So Hope how did you meet Alexand?

" Alexand... weird but ok.

"Umm I kinda actually kinda bumped into him by accident".

One of them was about to ask something else when Victoria opens her fat mouth

"Please more like threw yourself at him like the slut you are. Ain't that right I mean heck even your parents know you're a slut."

I freeze not knowing what to really say back, but someone else speaks up

"really Vic you wanna talk bout sluts, when I know you slept with half of my teammates while we was still together." Wow I never heard Alex talk that way before, usually he is only polite. Before she says anything else Mark speaks up " yeah so please close them fishy leaves and leave Hope alone." I am so surprised no one has ever spoken up for me before. I thank them both. Before I can say anything else my phone buzzes.

Mom❤: Honey I have to work late, please don't go home without me being there, your father is home already and I can't risk you anymore.

H: Ok mom I will figure something out to do during the meantime.

"Everything ok" I heard then jumped. "Gosh you scared me" Alex starts laughing.
" Yeah I guess I have to find something to do, my mom has to work late and doesn't want me home alone." I mean that's not a complete lie. I do have to find something to do after school until she gets home.

"Well if you want you can stay after school and watch me at practice then we can go do something if you want to?" Today was just full of firsts.

"Sure"
