Finding My Person and My Reason

Chapter 15: Big day

*1 year later*

It's been a whole year and now this day has come. Today is the day I get to marry my best friend, my first love. My mom, Saraha, and Alex's mom are here in the room helping me. Saraha is in a pretty orange dress. It goes to her knees, with some sleeves, and the dress is ruffly. The rest of the womens and girls' dresses are yellow. That is loose but long. I let them choose the dress and just told them long and yellow. There were dresses I didn't fully care about.

It's time for me to get in my dress. I did a black dress, because it's almost halloween plus I like breaking tradition. Mom is crying her eyes out.

"Mom stop you're gonna mess your makeup up."

"Ugh your right sweetie"

I walked out the room and found dad and Alex together. The photographer said it's time to do the first look. Why am I so nervous right now? What if he changes his mind? Ugh here goes nothing.

I walk up to them and tap them on their shoulders. They turn around and start crying. Especially Alex.

"You are so beautiful honey," my dad says.

"Thank you"

Dad leaves and Alex just looks at me.

"Are you ready to get married?"

"So very much" I tell him.

We walk our separate ways. Everyone does their thing and now it's my turn to walk down the aisle. Walking toward Alex I begin to cry. Which makes him cry. I finally reach him and dad hands me off. I whip away Alex's tears and he does the same to me.

We go through the process. We finally get to the point where I tell my vows.

"Alex, I was a sophomore in high school when I "accidently" bumped into you and thought you were a wall. (Laughter) But then I did it again. I was such a clumsy person. But I feel like I was meant to bump "into a wall". We have been through thick and thin from an ex-girlfriend to my issues and your family issues. But what doesn't break you makes you stronger. Well we are very strong. I am so glad all them years ago we made everything right. You are my rock, my safe place, my everything. You are my entire world. You have made me the happiest girl in the world. I don't know what I did right but I must have hit the right wall." (More laughter erupts)

After that we go on to our I do's. Then the party happened. We all had a grand time. There was no alcohol due to kids being there and what not. We have our first dance. We danced to "Thinking out loud" by Ed Sheeran.. After a while everyone else joined in dancing and we just had a blast.

"How did I get so lucky to have a wife like you."

" I have no idea husband"

"Are you ready to get out of here, wife?"

"We can't just leave, there are still people here."

"We can too, we are the guests of honor, it's our wedding we do as we please."

"Ok lets go husband"

We left early, so I changed out of my dress first. Alex and I took our honeymoon. We went to Fiji, where we had a wonderful time... we spent hours swimming, fishing, and visiting the island. It's such a beautiful place.

When we came back I had such a big surprise..... Let's just say we will be busy for a long time. Because I am pregnant. When I showed Alex the test he ran outside and yelled I am going to be a dad, then spun me around and around.

Ahhh what do yall think about her being pregnant ! Honestly I didn't know if I wanted to take this road or not but thankfully I did.  Last chapter is next. And lets just say my friend cried while reading it.
