Michael came with him to go back home. A nice little road trip. Michael and Luke got to control the radio on the way over, which was a nice change from some of the road trips they'd taken in the past six months. Definitely a lot less crowded.

Snacks scattered around the "back seat" and Michael and Luke belted their little hearts out to "White Flag" by Dido.

And then "Bring Me To Life."

"This has to be the whitest thing I've ever seen," Calum deadpanned shaking his head looking at the two of them in the back seat.

"Oh leave us alone, Cal," Luke giggled.

"He's just mad cause he doesn't know the words."

"We're having way more fun than you two are and it really shows," Luke teased rubbing Ashton's chest playfully. He'd been surprisingly quiet this whole time, but Luke was thinking he was probably just tired. He hadn't let the older boy sleep much, since he couldn't keep his mouth away from his c—.

"Calum, don't pretend like you're different from us. Admit that you like Dido."

"Who the fuck is Dido?"

"Mikey, I wouldn't push it," Luke cooed sweetly. "Maybe it's just something for bottoms."

Michael sighed. "Yeah maybe you're right."

"It's not that they don't sound good. Damn. I can't say anything," Calum dramatically rolled his eyes and faced back forwards.

"Aww, Callie..." Michael hugged him from behind. "Why are you grumpy?" Michael baby talked to him, and Luke's ears perked up. He very rarely got to see this side of the two. It fascinated him every time.

"I'm not grumpy."

"Then stop acting like a big-ol' gloomy baby," Michael giggled softly, playing with Calum's hair.

Calum then gave into the touch and turned his head. Luke heard a couple more words and the distinguishable smack of a gentle kiss. And then Michael sat back happily.

"Do you guys think it's a bit early for Usher's 'Yeah!'?" Ashton asked with a smirk as the song came on.

"Absolutely not," Michael giggled. "Turn that shit up!"

Luke giggled feeling the cool early morning breeze whip through his hair, and the song blare inside the car.

It was like another reality. He and Michael were in the back getting way into it. Ashton was too, and even by the end of the song, Calum was singing "take that rewind it back," in a comical voice that practically killed the rest of them.

The city of Brightwich in the late spring/early summer was bright green and not quite miserable yet. Luke was forever lucky that the little town didn't start feeling the harsh effects of summer till late July.

Ashton drive slowly through the little town. In reference to the big cities luke had seen in the past few months, there was really no comparison. Brightwich was small, and quaint. No need for comparison there. They were two separate places. One was hyper urban. The other only had one red light.

Ashton helped Luke out of the car and hugged him tight. "You're not leaving yet are you?" The blonde asked.

"No. I'm gonna tell Liz hello," Ashton cooed. "But soon after that, yeah. We gotta get back to work soon."

Ashton helped Luke get the stuff out from the car and went up to knock on the door. Michael and Calum had disappeared by that point. Not that it was that big of a deal, but he'd hoped to spend more time with Michael, now that he wasn't paranoid.
