~•Chapter 14

I was exusted from all the tress of anxiety and tension with Alex. I wished I wasn't so scared whenever I was with him, or even looked at him to begin with.

I couldn't help but imagine how his childhood would be like. Did he even have friends? Or did they run away leaving their food for him whenever he walked into the cafeteria.

Don't blame me, he gave me every reason to think so.

After drying my hair, I turned to the sound of my phone. Beeping, and I  sighed at the length messages Esther had left my time at school. I haven't been able to respond to any of it and I know she must be mad angry.

"Esther, please don't blow up my phone! I'm back from school." I say into the phone, after hearing her growl, she started talking.

"Guess what. The biggest fight happened at school today." I was a little shocked to hear that there was a fight back at school.

I never witnessed any fights my years there, maybe there was,but the school board would viciously make you wish you never did.

So if there was a fight and not Esthers drama, then it must have been student who's parents either owned, or could control the school that would pick a fight on school property.

"Who was it?" She hummed and hissed, coughed and laughed, it just hit me that Lisa had something to do with it.

"It's Adams so-called girlfriend o. She was fighting her own brother can you imagine?" If a journalist were to be ghetto, then  Esther would qualify. "And did even you know she had a brother?" She said the last part with sudden realisation crossing her.

I didn't flinch. "I did. I met him on my visit to their house. Now will you tell me what led to their fight? I had a stressful day." And by stressful I mean trying conceal the urge to drool over Alex, run into dad's arms and who know what else.

"Okay okay. Anyway, he's hot, and he just newly transferred into the school. Lisa, being the natural witch she is, didn't like the fact that girls admired her brother."

"So she....?" I knew he would get girls at their feet the day I saw Bryan, but the fact of him transferring to that school was zero.

"Fought the girls that approached Bryan, made several injuries and pains." Now it hit me. After waiting for a long time for Esther to get to the point and the fear got me when she finally did.

"And what did Adam do?" I'm expecting her to say he held his girlfriend from killing innocent people, but she didn't.

"He wasn't even at school." Gosh! Now realising I haven't heard from him in a while. Adam never missed school, it's been that way since we were kids. Yes I knew Adam since we were kids and since then I have heard him miss school.

"Adam missed school? What the-?!"

"I know! Even the lecturers were surprised,  but anyway Brayan was there to separate, he held his sister, and she slapped him. Pushed him away and walked off."

I was abashed by her words just imagining the scene my head. I expect such from Lisa, she always tried to pick fight when we were there, but why Adam would miss school I'm Still to know.

Now I know why he had to address himself as Lisa's "Unfortunate brother" to a stranger like me.

"That's not all." She started again, this time with more enthusiasm. "Bryan isn't even really her biological brother, did you know?"

"No." I answered simply, like I wasn't completely shocked by it.

"According to her crying and yelling that gossips around the school heard, she kept throwing insults at poor Bryan, and also said she wished he never got adopted."

"Terrible." I could only manage to say.

Even if Bryan was adopted, why was Lisa so mad about it? And what if people like your brother? What's the big deal about this?

All in all I knew there was something bigger to it.

"Why did you drag me here?" I kept myself from yelling  at the top of my voice as annoyance took control over me.

For some reason I didn't care if he was the scary Alex with a rude attitude and chest I could get lost in, I frowned at him for pulling me across the hall, before the eyes of many into the cleaners closet.

"You've caused lot of problems already." He only said after I practically looked at him like trash. I expected him to have a worse reaction but he didn't.

"Problems?" I'm problem myself.

"Unfortunately." He cracked his jaw. "Last night, your presence caused a scene."

"My presence?" He said that like it wasn't HIM the woman and her daughter were annoyed to see.

"Yes. So you have to fix what you caused."

"What I caused?!" Now I couldn't take it. Its bad enough he bruised me while pulling me in here, now he's blaming me for what HE caused with that woman and her daughter. And I have my own problem to fix.

"I'm sorry, but my lifes too short to fix someone else's problem."

"Do I have to beg you?" He sighed, seeing how the lights in here layed on his muscles.

"If you want to, fine. But I'm not fixing anything. " He pulled me back the moment I tried to walk out.

"Please." He held me to the wall. "Please just help me." He said. I tired not to fall for it but I couldn't help it.

"Fine."

"Good. Otherwaise I'll just have to release that video-"

"What video?" I could only think of one video, one impossible video of five year old me running in an oversized police uniform, just one video that only Adam has.

No way, he couldn't have it, he could neve-

"This video."
