~•Chapter 13

It was difficult to forget what happened minutes ago. I tried recalling what went wrong. What I did that made him act that way.

Alex never paid any kind of attention to me, so the thought of him kissing me was never an option.

For all I know-

"Hay." He called, adverting my eyes to see the car come to a stop. Looking at the building with lights, palm trees and an open garage with a Jeep parked in it. Deliberating on our location, I looked back at him.

"This isn't my house." I said and he smirked, which was rare yet familiar. What are we doing here? Does he want to kidnap me? Because I remember when mum told me about b-

"I know. You just wait here." He said before opening the door, leaving the car on its running engine. Bewildered me stood in the car and gazed outside until his back view came into sight.

He walked towards the house, and he knocked on the door, three times in unison. I frown as to what he could be doing here. I didn't know why I wasn't so worried about being kidnapped, instead I was curious.

Curious to see who would be at the other side of the door. A lady. She looked about mum's age, tall, and from my sight she seemed very beautiful. Lucky Alex to have a better view I stern my eyes just to see her reaction.

She had on a graceful smile, but it didn't look too graceful to ease Alex. I know I could only see him from behind; Hot by the way, but I could tell he was still nervous.

They began to exchange words. While she had on a smile of surrender, she gave Alex an open ear. But that lasted for just a few seconds.

Until another female pops up, looking like the smaller version of the woman, short, and pretty too. She had on allot of make up and didn't look as decent as her mother seemed to be.

She didn't find Alex image pleasing to see. Her highlights flushed into anger, and she bit her jaw.
"What are you doing here?!" I flinched at her out burst.

You could see her mother try to hold her to peace but she rejected, standing on her irritation. "You let him come here?!" She yelled at her mother, and I saw Alex shrink before them.

I have never seen him so humble. "Mrs. Deryeta, it's fine, I'm on my way." Alex said, knowing he fully wanted to please that girl. "Um...I just wanted you to have this." I saw their eyes fall on a wad of cash. "I hope it helps." 

Again anger filled her overly contorted face.

"What? do we look like we're suffering? Do we look like we need your help?!" She turned to her mother. "What does he take us for?! Beggars?!" If only they had neighbors, that home would be surrounded.

And people would mutter why someone like Alex would be harassed by a girl like that. But lucky for Alex none was found, their house was in the middle of bushes and palm trees. It looked like the house was built just for them.

"Alexander, I'm sorry, you should go. Ciara's having a bad day. Please just leave." Ciara? Her names Ciara?! Well that's just dumb nature, first she looks like a spoilt brat, then she acts like a more spoilt brat, and now she bears my name?

Oh please.

"Didn't you hear what Deryata said?! Get away from us!"

Okay, that's just unfair. Obviously Alex was being the nicest he could ever be. He hardly gave his brother any attention, neither does he do the-same to his fiends, but he's her offering the nicest gift one could offer in this economy, and they dare making the poor guy look like the biggest fool in the world?!

Yes; it hurt to see them treat Alex like that. He didn't deserve it, no matter what He did, he deserved to be treated respectfully and dignified. Both of us can't go home looking like trash tonight.

Alex started walking back disappointed. Once he was inside the car I maintained my gaze in him. He sighed and rested his had on the wheel.

"Should I ask what went wrong?" He switched the gear and off the car we went.

"You saw the way she looked at me." He sighed. "They hate me." Bitterness accompanied his tone.

"But, why'd they have to do that? I mean...you offered them money. Everyone loves money-"

"They're allot of things money can't fix Ciara, allot."

"Like?"

"It can't bring back the dead." Pushed towards his dashboard as the car came to a halt.

"Get out."

✨looks like Alex is turning on a whole new phase towards Ciara, do you think he brought her with him intentionally? Or was it just a coincidence. Oh and also, what do you think about Ciara namesake?
