Hi everyone! I understand how annoying an author note mid story is, but, I feel it's important that I put a warning for what's coming in d3.
Part three will be more mature -- there will be mentions of sexual assault, fights, bullying, and mental illness. The reason I'm choosing to add these topics is because I think it's important to educate people on real life issues because I know from personal experience that you never assume something like this could happen to you, until it does.
Rowan has a lot of traits that are similar to mine and her character means a lot to me, I truly do not like putting her through pain but I want to express more emotions from her. Since she is inspired by myself in some ways, I felt that she was worth sharing my own sexual assault story through. I will not go into full details because I understand how triggering that can be to some. Rowan's experience will not be exactly the same to mine, so it is based off true events but tweaked to fit this story line.
I hope you all can see where I am coming from in the sense of not wanting my book to be purely easy going love that sounds like it is coming from a nine year old. I don't think these topics will be written very intensely, if anything they might be watered down a little more than necessary.
I wanted to put this as its own chapter because I know most people skip author note's and I feel this is too important to pass by as if it is nothing. I just wanted to let everyone know about these things before I start publishing any further.
Also, as I write this we are just hitting 20k on this story and I could not be anymore grateful or blown away. I remember only 3 months ago I started this and never could even picture saying words that I put down have be read this many times. Thank you all <3
-Jane xoxo
