I felt the shopping cart bump into the corner of the bread stand. "Ow." I heard her giggle behind me. I snapped my head back, watching Lina eyeing the bread. "Is that funny?" She shrugged, finally choosing a loaf of bread. "A little bit." I scoffed. "Well I don't think so." She placed the loaf in the cart before leaning against me. "Well, I think you forgot to get the almond milk. Go get it."

I chuckled before nodding. "I'll be back." "Thank you. And I'll make sure not to bump into anything while you're gone." "Very funny." I turned to walk to the dairy section. My mind is drifting. What is she up to right now?

I tensed up from the thought of it. What am I doing? Why am I thinking about Nikki, when I should be focused on groceries with my fiance? I felt my hand go in my pocket before realizing it. Don't do it, don't call her.

My fingers swiftly unlocked the phone and went right into my contacts. My stupid ass thumb pushing on her name with enthusiasim. Don't answer. Let me drift into voicemail. Ignore me. I heard the line ringing, not knowing if my body was tensing up from relief or impatience.

"You're calling me?" Damn it. "You're answering me?" I felt my tenseness settle when I heard her chuckle in my ear. Why did I miss it? "Is there any reason I wouldn't?" I felt my hands squeeze the phone. "You shouldn't." "You know I shouldn't, yet you still called me?" "Yeah, I don't know why." I heard her humming softly, my body slowly reacting.

"Stop it." "I'm not doing anything, not yet anyway." I smirked at the idea. "That's not why I called." "Why did you call?" I didn't answer. Do I actually know the reason, I called? Is there a reason I called? Her voice slapped me back into the moment.

"What are you up to?" I looked at the cartons of milk in front of me. "I am currently trying to pick out a carton of almond milk." "Hmm." I groaned at the sound. "What?" "I didn't take you for a non-dairy kind of man." "I'm on a diet." "You liar. Pick the Yummer's brand."

I looked to my left and found the light purple carton, "You drink this stuff?" "Yes, which is why I recommend it." "What are you doing?" She sighed before answering. "Wondering how long it would take me to keep this conversation about almond milk going." "Is it boring?" "No, quite the opposite."

I grabbed the carton, both of us embracing and enjoying the silence. Not an ounce of awkwardness in it. It's comforting, relaxing almost. Is it the silence that's relaxing and inviting, or is it like that because it's silence with her? "I miss you." I smirked as she whispered. "Do you?"

"Like you wouldn't believe." I shook my head. "No, you're just horny." Mimicking her words from the other day. "Do you want proof?" Proof? I want it. I want proof and more. I chuckled. "You're hilarious. I have to get back."

She hummed once more. "Okay, call me when you miss me again." "I don't-" I got cut short by her hanging up. I gave out another genuine chuckle. Was I being that predictable? That cheesy? Did I actually miss her or was I the one who was horny?

I pushed the thought of Nikki back into my head as I walked back the bread section. Lina still staring at the bread. "You know they don't talk back right?" She chuckled. "Shut up. I got bored waiting for you. What took you so long?"

I showed her carton. "Milk." She eyed it with curiosity. "Yummer's?" I shrugged before putting it in the cart. "What? It's cute and healthy. What more could you want?" She nodded, accepting my argument. "Alrighty. We just need a couple more things and then we're out of here."

"Alright, let's do it." We continued with our shopping. Picking her favorite things, my workout things, and then our unhealthy things. "You want spicy pork rinds or cheesy pork rinds?" I thought about. "Spicy." She scrunched her nose. "Eww." "What? If I get the cheese ones, you're gonna eat them all." She laughed before putting both bags in the cart. "Compromise. Plus what's yours is also mine, right?" Right.

We grabbed the last of the things before making the line. Lina double-checked the cart before stopping. "What did you forget?" She turned around. "Spinach and mushrooms." "We can come back for them." She shook her head. "You always want to leave the veggies. I'll be back." I smiled as she walked off.

I pushed the cart closer to the register, placing the groceries on the convertor belt. I stopped when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I placed the last of the things on the belt before grabbing my phone.

Oh. I unlocked my phone, opening my messages. Goosebumps showing up on my skin. Oh god. My heart beat faster at the text. I'm still unsure about the exact reason why. Was it because I was getting excited or was it the thrill of getting caught? Or both?

It was a picture. She was sitting on her knees, the mirror, showing her off in the best way. Her hair dark and laying past her shoulders. I couldn't see her face but I did see her small, delicate fingers around the phone. My eyes went down the picture, admiring every last detail.

On her shoulders, a black silk robe. The front was open so it wasn't covering much. On her neck, a small silver necklace. I groaned a bit, jealous of the little piece of jewelry. The most important detail was what she was wearing on her chest. Her bra was black and silky. My mouth watered a bit. Her free hand laying softly on it. I started typing but she beat me to it.

Miss me yet?😉

I didn't know what to say back to her. Of course I did. Now more than ever. I jumped when I felt the cart being pushed into me. Lina watching me. "Hey! Tell Seth or the cousins to text you later. He's been trying to talk to you for past two minutes."

My eyes snapped back the the cashier. "I'm sorry, what was it?" "I asked if you would like paper or plastic sir?" "Paper." My mind already drifting back to the photo. I miss you, I've been missing you. For how long? Forever it feels like.
