~Sammy's P.O.V~

"What's so funny?"

I look down at the dough-eyed girl in front of me, curious, yet amused at her actually having fun for once. She smirks, reaching over to take a wad of cotton candy from the cone in my hand, pausing to let it dissolve on her tongue.

And then... She shoots me.

...A smile, of course.

But it does hurt an assload.

"Don't worry about it, there are roller coasters to be ridden." And with that, she walks forward with a dominance I didn't even think possible.

Wait... What?

I look over at Nate, who just shrugs with a smile, following behind her. How could an attitude like hers, be reduced to cute ass smiles, in a matter of minutes? I stare back at the bench, still confused. What, did she find a fifty dollar bill lying somewhere? Is she bipolar? Did she meet Benedict Cumberbatch (who she literally wouldn't stop talking about during twenty questions)?

I mean, I'm not complaining... It's just, sucky. I try talking to her, she brushes me off... Several times, if I might add. And to be honest, the only reason we're the way we are now, (which is supposed to be friends, although I'm not really feeling it) is because she felt bad for accidentally calling me desperate. But then, all of a sudden she's super happy - something I wasn't even there to witness.

I shake it off in wonder, taking a piece of cotton candy, and beginning to follow behind the two.

Soon enough,Brooke starts humming a tune beside me, and I instantly recognize it as Riptide by Vance joy. I listen to her for a bit, thinking that her humming's really soft and... Almost, sweet. Nate starts humming with her and I raise an eyebrow.

Well, can't be the one left out.

I clear my throat, starting to hum.

But it comes out really raspy, more of like a gurgle than a hum.

No wait...it was worse. It was like...

Like rocks in a drying machine.

My eyes widened, as I tried to comprehend what part of my esophagus that noise could've possibly have come from. I look over to Nate and Brooke, noticing how they had stopped walking and were staring at me like I was a walking dead man.

And then they double over in laughter.

"It requires absolutely no singing skills to be able to hum and somehow you still messed it up." Nate chuckles, shoving me.

I furrow my eyebrows, shoving him back, and pouting, "Nah man, I wasn't trying to hum. I was... Um, clearing my throat? Yeah. So you guys would, uh, choose another song."

Smooth, Sammy.

I look over at Brooklynn to see an amused smirk playing on her lips.

She giggles, "Awe Sammy, I think that was actually some top-notch humming. Maybe even professional level."

She reaches out and ruffles my hair, winking. My frown subsides, without hesitation, and I shove my hand in my pocket.

Speechless, I just nod in her direction.

Speechless? I don't get speechless.

Nate squints at me, "Are you blushing?"

I sure as hell don't blush either.

"First of all, I burn really easily. And second of all, I don't blush Skate."

"Mhmm, whatever you say Sammy boy."
