[13] - Past Love

This chapter is meant to serve as a flashback chapter on Zabdiel and Joel's relationship and basically it'll explain why Zabdiel doesn't want Erick to know about it. Enjoy! (specially made for Kayleigh_Imagines♡)

Zabdiel's POV

"Joel... There's something I need to tell you..." I said. "Okay, what is it?" He asked. "Um I-" I said before his two best friends interrupted me.

"AWW LOOK AT THE TWO LOVE BIRDS" Said Richard putting his arms around the two of us. "Are we interrupting something?" Said Chris pretending to care. "Yes actually you are. Zabdiel was just about to tell me something" He said. "It's fine, it can wait" I said.

"Why do you guys always feel the need to just barge into my house for absolutely no reason?" He said. "Relax bro we didn't know you were with your boyfriend" Said Richard. "He's not my boyfriend" He said.

"Joel you're in denial. You guys have been 'together' for almost 4 months now I think it's safe to say he's your boyfriend" Said Chris. "He's not and if he was it's none of your business" He said.

"We'll just leave you two LOVE BIRDS to it and come back later" Said Richard dragging Chris away. "Wait but I want to stayyyy" Said Chris grabbing on to every surface he could as Richard dragged him away.

"I'm sorry for my friends but now that they're gone, what did you want to tell me baby?" He said putting his hands on my face. "You know what, nevermind. I have to go, I'll see you at school tomorrow" I said. "Okay?" He said.

I was supposed to finally tell him that I've fallen in love with him but I don't think I can do it anymore. I don't know how it started I just know it happened. I love him. I know it's stupid. He's Joel and I'm me.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel the same way but regardless, I have to tell him. Which is what I was going to do before his annoying friends walked in and interrupted me.

Now I don't know if I'll ever have the courage to try and say it again. He'll probably ask about it again so I'll just tell him tomorrow... I hope.

[The Next Day]

"Hiii" I said with a big smile walking up to Joel's locker. "Hello to you too, why are you so happy this morning?" He said kissing me on the lips.

"I don't know actually considering I'm going to do something today that could potentially ruin everything" I said. "What are you going to do?" He laughed. "I can't tell you, not yet" I said.

"There's nothing you could say that would ruin anything between us" He said smiling at me. "You won't be saying that once I tell you" I said.

"But if I don't tell you now I probably never will" I said.

"Joel?" I said realizing his attention was no longer on me. "Joel what are you looking at?" I asked.

Oh I see. He's looking at a guy...

"Helloooo, I'm still here" I said stepping in front of him blocking his view. "Are you even listening to me?!" I said. "Uhuh yeah of course" He said still looking at the guy behind me.

Then Chris and Richard came up to us.

"What are you looking at?" Asked Richard. "Who's that?" Said Joel. "I don't know but you have somebody standing right in front of you who you should be paying attention to" Said Chris. "Oh you're right, sorry" he said.

"Zabdi you wanted to tell me something right?" He asked. "No, no I didn't" I said. "Okay well we're about to walk to class are you walking with us?" He asked. "No I have something I need to do first. I'll see you later" I said.

I don't know who that guy is but I'm going to find out because I need him to stay as far away from Joel as possible.

"Hi I'm Zabdiel, are you new here?" I asked. "Yes today's my first day. I'm Erick nice to meet you" He said.

"I'm not used to people coming up to me and randomly being nice, is there a reason you came over here or?" He asked. "No not at all. I kind of figured you were new so I just came to introduce myself and possibly make a new friend" I said with a friendly smile. "Oh really? I'd like that" He said.

"As my very first friend at this school, would you mind showing me around?" He asked. "Sure what are friends for" I said.

That was easier than I thought. Now I just have to make sure him and Joel never cross paths.

[Later]

I've been at Joel's house for at least 2 hours now and he's not paying any attention to me. He's been texting someone the whole time I've been here.

"Who are you texting?" I asked. "Its not important" He said. "Okay then you want to tell me why you've been ignoring me the whole time I've been here?" I said.

"That's not true" He said. "Yes it is. Normally you can't get your hands off me and now you can't get your hands off your phone so what's the problem?" I said.

"Nothing" He said. "You're lying" I said. "Stop lying to me and just tell me the truth" I said. "You want the truth?" He said.

"Zabdi... I kissed somebody today that wasn't you" He said. "Wh-what?!" I said."WHO?!?" I asked angrily. "Honestly I don't remember his name it was something like Er-" he said. "I don't remember" He said.

"WAS IT ERICK?!" I asked. "I think so, how do you know his name?" He asked. "Lucky guess" I said.

"Point is, I liked it" he said. "I like him" He said. "What are you trying to say?" I asked. "I don't want this anymore... I want him" He said.

"Seriously?...Just like that??" I said holding back tears. "You've know him for less than a day and you've already decided you want him over me??!" I asked.

"You're overreacting" he said. "I'm not even sure why you're so mad, we're not even in a real relationship" He said. "Right... We're not" I said. "I'm just going to go now" I said.

"We may not have meant anything to you but we meant something to me, but I'll let you move on" I said. "Zabdiel don't be upset" He said. "Too late" I said.

I never even got to tell him how I really felt.

That Erick guy is going to pay for this and I'll make sure of it...
