[21] - The Return Pt. 1

Richard's POV

"Erick my phone died, can I use yours?" I asked. "Yeah sure" He said handing me his phone.

"WAIT... THIS IS JOEL'S HOUSE" he said. "I KNEW YOU WERE UP TO SOMETHING, WHY ARE WE HERE?!" He said. "This should be interesting" Said Jax.

This couldn't have gone any worse. I finally make it to Joel's house and Erick realizes where we are, my phone dies, Chris isn't answering his phone, and Jax is sitting back and enjoying the show.

"Erick give me a chance to explain" I said. "I'm not sure how you could possibly explain why you brought here without me getting angrier" He said. "At least give him a chance" Said Jax. "I DON'T WANT TO, NOW UNLOCK THE DOOR" He said.

"He's never going to unlock the door if you don't let him explain" He said. "FINE. GO AHEAD. EXPLAIN" He said.

"I don't really have an explanation BUT, Joel does so please just let him explain" I said. "I'M NOT GOING IN THERE" He said. "I'll go with you" Said Jax.

"NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT" I said. "Why not?" He asked. "BECAUSE- Forget it, let's go" I said unlocking the doors.

This is going to be one hell of a show.

*Knock knock*

"Richard hello, nice to see you all grown up" She said. "I-wh-how-" I stuttered.

HIS MOM?!? HIS MOM??!? WHAT?! WHAT IS SHE DOING HERE??!

Well now I don't feel bad for completely screwing up and bringing Jax here.

"Who are your friends?" She asked. "Er- Actually, I think you should ask Joel. They're more his friends than mine" I said.

"Richard what's going on, and who's that?!?" Erick whispered to me. "This was not supposed to happen, I SWEAR" I whispered back. "This day just keeps getting better and better" Said Jax.

"Well don't just stand there, come in" She said opening the door for us.

As soon as Chris and I made eye contact he ran up to me.

"RICHARD WHAT THE HELL?!? I TOLD YOU NOT TO BRING THEM HERE IN LIKE 10 DIFFERENT WAYS" he said. "DO YOU NOT CHECK YOUR MESSAGES?!" He asked.

"Let's say hypothetically, my phone died and I didn't get not one of those messages" I said. "I'M GOING TO STRANGLE YOU" He said. "Kinky" I said.

"THIS IS NOT A JOKING MATTER JOEL IS SLOWLY LOSING HIS MIND AND ERICK SHOULDN'T BE HERE TO SEE IT HAPPEN" He said. "Joel seems fine to me" I said. "That's because they've only been her for about 5 minutes" He said.

"If anything Erick will help keep him calm" I said. "BUT JAX WON'T. ALL HE DOES IS PUSH JOEL'S BUTTONS AND YOU THINK HE WON'T NOW?!" He said.

"I'M SORRY OKAY??" I said. "FORGET IT, NOW WE HAVE A NEW TASK" He said.

"TO KEEP JOEL FROM MURDERING SOMEBODY IN THIS ROOM" He said. "That's not as easy as it sounds and you know it" I said.

"IF YOUR PHONE WOULD'VE BEEN CHARGED YOU WOULD'VE SEEN MY MESSAGES AND YOU WOULDN'T BE IN THIS POSITION SO SHUT UP AND LET'S GO" He said dragging me to the couch.

Joel's POV

"Aren't you going to introduce us to your new friends?" Asked my mom. "Yeah Joel, aren't you going to introduce us?" Said Jax.

"What's all this?" Asked Erick looking around the room. "I was just wondering the same thing" Said my mom.

I'm going to lose it. All I wanted was the chance to make things right with Erick and EVERYTHING went completely wrong.

My parents show up unannounced AND JAX OF ALL PEOPLE IS HERE.

"Mom, dad, this is Erick my..." I said. "Friend" He said. "And that's Jax my other f-f-f-friend" I said.

In the corner of my eye I could see Richard and Chris laughing at how difficult it was for me to call Jax my friend.

"And would you mind telling us what's all this?" She asked. "You see..." I said.

"Joel was this all for me?" asked Erick. "Is that why Richard came over to my house asking me to 'hang out' with him?" he asked. "So you could surprise me with a date?" He asked with tears in his eyes. "Yes... But now it doesn't matter because it's all ruined" I said.

"Are you crying?" I asked. "No one's every done something like this all for me" He said.

"Wait. Surprise date?" Said my dad. "You're gay? He asked.

That's it. I've lost it.

"NO I'M NOT GAY, I'M BISEXUAL WHICH YOU WOULD KNOW IF YOU WERE IN ANY PART OF MY LIFE SINCE MY BROTHER DIED" I said. "YOU HAVEN'T HAD A REAL CONVERSATION WITH ME SINCE THEN. FOUR YEARS DAD. FOUR YEARS I'VE BEEN WITHOUT PARENTS" I said. "SO WHY THE HELL DID YOU DECIDE TO SHOW UP NOW?!" I asked.

After I stopped yelling Erick came over to hug me and sat next to me.

"Please calm down" he said. "Do it for me because you're starting to scare me" He said. "Don't let them turn you into a monster, you've come so far" He said putting his hand on my leg. "Please" He said.

"We know we've messed up in the past but" She said. "NO MOM YOU DON'T KNOW" I said. "YOU DON'T KNOW THE PAIN YOU'VE CAUSED ME, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I'VE TRIED TO KILL MYSLEF, YOU DON'T KNOW THE COMMITMENT ISSUES YOU'VE CAUSED ME" I said.

"I CAN'T EVEN BE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ONLY PERSON I'VE EVER LOVED BECAUSE I KEEP THINKING HE'S GOING TO LEAVE ME LIKE YOU DID" I said. "I DON'T CARE HOW SORRY YOU ARE. NO APOLOGY OR EXPLANATION WILL EVER FIX THAT" I said.

"OH AND I CAN'T FORGET TO MENTION THAT THE ONLY SENSE OF FAMILY THAT I HAVE ARE RICHARD AND CHRIS" I said.

"I'm not going anywhere" Said Erick wrapping his arms around me. "I'll never ever, ever, leave you" he said. "I promise" He said.

"Joel we had no idea that-" He said. "YOU GUYS ARE RIDICULOUS" I said.

"YOU HAD NO IDEA THAT ACCUSING YOUR SON OF KILLING YOUR OTHER SON AND THEN ABANDONING HIM FOR FOUR YEARS WAS GOING TO CAUSE ANY DAMAGE?!" I said. "ARE YOU HEARING YOURSELVES?!" I asked.

"Come with me" Said Erick grabbing my hand and taking me somewhere.

"Look at me" he said. "I know you must have a million thoughts and questions running through your head right now and you're extremely angry, which you have every right to be" he said. "But you cannot hurt anybody and I can see it in your eyes that you're about to" he said.

"I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere" he said putting his hands on my face. "So please don't hurt anybody" He said.

"I'm sorry that I gave up on you but I'm here now" he said. "And after seeing everything you went through for me I'm not leaving you again" He said.

"Do you really mean that?" I asked. "Of course I do, I love you and I've never loved anybody else the way I love you" He said. "I'm so so sorry for leaving you. I didn't realize how bad I was hurting you until now. Can you forgive me?" He said. "Of course I forgive you because I love you too" I said.

"You make me a better person and I can't imagine my life without you which is why I went through all this just for you to give me another chance" I said. "Well now you have me" He said.

"Let's go back over there and try to keep it together" He said. "Okay but I want you to know I'm only doing it for you" I said. "If you weren't here I think I'd lose my mind" I said. ""Well I am here and I'm always going to be" He said.

"Can I kiss you?" I asked. "I think you're becoming too nice because you really just asked if you could kiss me..." he said. "Just kiss me" He said. 

"I love you" I said kissing him. "I love you too" He said
