The next time it happened was a few days after the morning in the locker room, which the others were adamant Hinata was exaggerating or straight-up lying about.

Atsumu was off his game.

The coach knew it, Meian knew it, Hinata knew it, and Atsumu definitely knew it.

The only one who seemed to not know was Sakusa, which was odd enough with how particular he was about the sets he spiked, but more so now that everyone was slowly coming to terms with the fact that, yes, he and Atsumu were dating.

"Dammit!"

Atsumu had fumbled a set to Hinata, the ball much too low for him to hit over the net.

"Don't mind, Atsumu-san!"

Atsumu glared at his hands, not seeming to have heard his teammate.

Hinata glanced around desperately, but everyone was too caught up in their own practicing to help with his predicament.

Of course everyone had off-days where their playing wasn't the best, or things just never seemed to go right, but Hinata hadn't seen Atsumu this agitated before and he had no idea how to deal with it.

Another 15 minutes of bad sets and angry mutterings later, their coach finally called for a break.

Hinata was contemplating whether to tell Sakusa about his boyfriend – although they were getting used to the idea of them being together, no one had yet to actually acknowledge their relationship to their faces – when his eyes caught sight of Sakusa already making his way to Atsumu.

"Atsumu."

The man in question, who was now glaring at his water bottle, turned that glare on Sakusa instead.

The rest of the team watched, perplexed, as Sakusa, unphased, walked to the bench Atsumu was standing next to and laid on his back.

Atsumu stared at Sakusa who simply made a vague gesture with his hand, one that only Atsumu seemed to understand. His frustrated expression melted into something that resembled exhaustion before he dropped his bottle onto the floor and sprawled on top of his boyfriend, nuzzling his face into his chest.

Everyone, including their coach, collectively gaped at the scene in front of them.

Sakusa pointedly ignored everyone as he started running one hand through Atsumu's hair, and the other up and down his back.

Bokuto, who had the excuse of getting close in order to fetch his own water bottle from the floor near their feet, came back to the group with a thoughtful expression.

"What is it?" Tomas asked.

"Sakusa's mumbling a bunch of reassurances? Like, "everyone has off days," and "did you see the horrible receive Inu-san made earlier?""

Inunaki snorted.

"Wow. That's... really sweet," Barnes murmured.

Meian nodded. "And here I thought he hadn't even noticed his bad mood."

"I never thought Omi-san could be like that!"

Tomas was quick to shush Hinata. "Do you want them to hear you?"

The group glanced at the couple who, thankfully, weren't paying them any mind. They watched as Sakusa kissed Atsumu's forehead and the frown on Atsumu's face curved into a small smile.

By the time coach told everyone to continue practice and Atsumu had rolled off of Sakusa's chest, their teammates had turned away.

Atsumu's sets improved drastically.
