Somewhere Only We Know

Coldish Water

"WHERE HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN?!!" Pope yelled from across the beach. His eyes widened as he took in Kie's limp.

"What happened?" Sarah asked worriedly, running over to take Kie from JJ. 

"Kie sprained her ankle, I think." JJ said.

Pope went strait into doctor mode at that. "Ok, I need a big log to elevate it, and something cold to stop swelling. Pain meds would be nice too-

"Dude" John B cut in. "There aren't any pain meds on an abandoned island."

"Oh, right." Pope sighed. "Fine, but we still need a log and something cold."

Sarah and Cleo teamed up to drag a log towards them and John B struggles with JJ to find something cold. Pope gets Kie something to lay on helps her sit down. 

JJ is holding a coconut full of ocean water as the girls elevate Kie's feet on the log. 

"That looks great guys." Pope compliments, knowing that's all they can really do for her.  

" I got coldish water." JJ says, holding up the coconut. 

"Well, if it's all we got." Pope says, defeated.

"Hey, I worked hard for that water!" JJ says. 

"Oh yes, I'm sure going all the way to the water that surrounds the island was terribly difficult." Sarah piped in sarcastically. 

At that, JJ falls silent. John B gives Sarah a smirk. Kie looks super tired, so the pogues move off to their respective sleeping spots. Sarah and John B occupy the log next to the campfire. Pope and Cleo had actually made a makeshift tent and bed with the canopy. That just leaves JJ, watching Kie slowly fall asleep. He settles in next to her, leaning his head on her shoulder. 

From across the beach, John B senses something is different. 

"Hey, Sarah."

"What's up John B?" Sarah whispers. 

"You think something is off with JJ?"

Sarah rolls her eyes. "As if he hasn't always looked at Kie like that"

"You mean this is about how he likes her?" John B asks. 

"Wait, JJ told you?" Sarah asks, not quite shocked. 

"What? No of course not. But they obviously like each other. You can see it when the are next to each other and stuff." John B says nonchalantly. 

Sarah knows that John B is very perceptive, but it still surprises her sometimes. 

Sarah glances up at the stars. "Maybe one day they'll both finally realize it."
