Lavender
I should be panicking about who's going to do my makeup, where my heels where, how my hair is going to look and how my dress will look on me.
But here I am in bed, watching Netflix and on my phone, looking at everyone's prom pictures. Xander and I haven't talked since what happened between us.
Usually I would just go to school, make sure the committee has everything in order and then I come home. Hearing a knock on my door, I continued to scroll at the prom pictures people where already taking.
The door opened to get my attention. I turned to see Aunt Jackie by the door, holding onto the knob. She gave me a half smile, trying to figure out why I'm not going to prom.
I moved in with them three days after Christmas. My "Parents" tried to make up everything they did for me. My whole life was a lie because of them. We argued back and forth that night when I went home. They tried to get me to hate my family but I couldn't.
After we had it out, I made sure that they didn't see me anymore. Of course I see Dad but I don't even talk to him. Wow, I still can't believe I'm calling him Dad. Aunt Jackie, Grandma Pearl, and Mrs. Manes had got my things whenever I called Aunt Jackie to come and get me.
Uncle Asher and Mr. Manes also helped me get my things followed by Xander. My friends stayed that night and cared for me. Xander tried but Mr. and Mrs. Manes told him no.
"You're still not going?" She questioned, with a frown on her face. I nod my head, sitting up in bed.
"I can't go to prom Auntie. Xander and I haven't talked since." I said, looking down at my blanket that covered my body. I could see Xander moving on, holding hands with someone else, kissing and hugging his love.
She sighs, coming in to close the door and sits on my bed. "Lavender. You don't have to go to prom with him. You can always go with your friends."
I smiled a little, looking over at my Aunt. "I could but they'll have dates."
"Come on Lavenderrr." She picked my hands up with hers making me laugh a little. I knew I didn't know my aunt as much as I wanted to but she's like a big sister I never had. She's always there to give me advice on what to do.
When we made it downstairs, I noticed all of my friends dressed and ready to go to prom. Cambria and Matt, Hakeem and his girlfriend; Audrey, and Zach and Raven. I arched my brow at my two youngest friend seeing that they were dressed up.
Cambria and Matt colors were green. Cambria hair was in a high ponytail braid, a two piece with the end of it flowing and her makeup looked good.
