The amount of jokes I wanted to put into this chapter-
I continue running even though my body has been exhausted, the single milk jug in my hands seeming heavier each footstep. I am keeping close to Master Roshi and Goku isn't far behind. Krillin is a little farther back but both boys seem to lack motivation.
Soon, I see the top of the hill come into view, out last stop is residing on the top. Filled with determination to make it to the top, I push myself harder before nearly collapsing at the front doorstep.
Behind me the boys arrive as well, leaning over and panting. Roshi clicks his tongue.
"Where is your motivation at?"
My family.
"You should know that you are competing in the world martial arts tournament in six months. You've been training for one month, and the rest of the months will have the same training regimine from dawn to dusk. Do you understand?"
"Yes Master Roshi." We say in union.
Master Roshi knocks on the door and a short man greets us.
As we hand him the three milk jugs that we had carried precariously across the island, his face lights up in joy. I can't help but smile at him, happy to see that we made his day.
This is my motivation.
Soon it's time to head back to Kami House as we run towards our destination, no longer weighed down by milk jugs. The breakfast the Launch prepares makes the day worth it as I fill my stomach to the brim.
Walking outside in the morning with a yawn, I am surprised to see that Master Roshi has three large turtle shells laying in front of him. When Goku turns and sees me, he grins.
"You're here! Now we can know what these shells are for!"
Raising a suspicious eyebrow, I walk quicker towards the shells. Once I am there, Roshi clears his throat.
"Alright. As you've already noticed, or at least hopefully noticed, I always wear a turtle shell on my back."
He gave us a little spin that I couldn't help but quirk my mouth at. However it soon started to slip as I realized what he was saying.
"These turtle shells are for you three."
I leaned forward and grasped the shell, only to be surprised when it offered more resistance then I thought it would. I heard a gasp from Krillin and Goku as well. Master Roshi laughed at us, but it was of course in a teasing way.
"These aren't ordinary turtle shells. Each one weighs a hundred pounds. From now on, you will wear this while you complete your morning training and other daily activities."
Krillin's faced morphed into shock.
"Everyday!?"
Master Roshi nodded and Krillin fell to the ground comically.
During dinner one night, Master Roshi pauses his eating to glance at us. I am beside Goku, Krillin is across from us, and Master Roshi and Launch are on the ends.
"Kids, remember that talk about motivation?"
We nod.
"Ok then, why do you learn martial arts?"
The eating slowed for a moment before Goku blinked and he seemed to contemplate an answer for a moment before speaking up.
"Well, since Grandpa died I want to make him proud. I was really sad when he died and I want to be as strong as he was so he knows that I never stopped training even when he died."
