Chapter 25: Take Care

When I get home Fin is fast asleep. Thank God.", I think. I've been gone for hours. But the fact that she didn't call or anything, lets me know she was busy too. Max and I had sex but, we mostly just laid there naked and talked afterwards. "What happened, Issa?", she asked after we'd finished. "What do you mean?", I asked. She grabbed my hand and began to caress it.

"At the bar you were desperate to get away from me. Then less than an hour later you were calling me and telling me to open my door.", she explains. "Something bad happened cause you're here. Something that really made you upset. And it happened quick after you left too.", she said. "I went back to our place and she was kissing Nzinga. That was all I needed to see.", I detail.

Does it hurt? Fuck yeah. Was it unexpected, no. I knew Fin's past. I saw how they were with each other. Hell she even omitted the fact those 2 had been together. Fin may love me but the truth is Fin loves herself more than anyone else. I go take a shower and hop into bed too. I stare at her back for awhile. I was really hoping she had changed.

Hell I thought she did. I then think, if she keeps getting caught not telling me stuff, what else hasn't she told me over our year together. She rolls over towards me. I immediately roll over the other way. I don't wanna look her in the face. As I'm laying there I get a text.

Max: I wanna see you again

I chuckle, because she's being bold now. She couldn't give 2 shits, if Fin sees this message or not. But I also bite my lip. I know Max and that's not a statement or a request. That was a command. Max had me earlier. Mistress Maxine now wants her turn with me. Honestly, I very much could use a visit with Mistress Maxine.

Me: When and where

In the morning things go like they usually do. Fin and I get up and get ready and then have breakfast. This morning was more quiet. It's obvious we've both done something. The question is who's gonna say something first. "How was your night?", I ask. I'm peeling an orange and she's eating a bowl of cereal. She looks into the bowl. She then places the spoon down.

"You were sleep when I got home so I didn't wanna wake you.", I add. She clinches her jaws. "Can you sit down Issa?", she requests. "Nah, I'm good standing.", I say crossing my arms. "Issa just sit the fuck down.", she says sternly. I raise an eyebrow and sigh as I grab the chair. " I can tell you already know. And I'm so sorry.", she states. She quickly adds, "But..." she looks me dead in my eyes. "Where were you last night?", she asks.

So I sigh. "Out doing the same thing as you, Fin.", I say boldly. I wasn't gonna cheat until I saw them. So honestly I don't give a fuck about how it looks. "Yea. I thought so.", she says. "I saw you and Nzinga kissing. So I went out and did what I had to do.", I say in a blasè manner. I then sigh and then shrug. "With who?", she then shoots. I cock my head to the side . "Really, Fin?", I ask. I mean I'm shocked but not shocked as well.

"Why does it matter?" She clinches her jaw. "You know who it was, with me.", she hurries to say. "And? So do you want a fucking gold star or something?", I ask mockingly. "I wanna know who it was.", she says. She's insistent, it's definitely bugging her. "Good.", I think. I stand up. "I'm going in early.", I tell her. I get the rest of my things together and leave without Fin.

Like I said, Max and I did fuck. But she also was there to just hold me. I have a tough exterior. But she knew I was hurt and spent most of the night just being there for me. When I first met Max it was definitely a lust thing, but there's always been a little more between us. I think Fin has known it too, probably even longer than me. Now that she knows who Max is, she obviously feels extremely threatened. And honestly she should. After this I'm definitely keeping Max in mind. Remember "take care."
