"AVADA K-"
Draco pointed his wand at his dad.
"STOP!" Someone yelled from afar. "PLEASE, STOP!"
"Expeliarmus!" He made sure to yell before turning around to see who in Merlin's beard was doing all that screaming. Lucius' wand dropped to the floor.
"Hermione?!" Draco exclaimed in utter shock without lowering his own wand. Suddenly his hand started shaking.
I must. Draco thought to himself.
I have to do it."Imperious!" Draco yelled and pointed the wand at Hermione. Her eyes widened.
"Stay five feet away from me and Lucius. And don't come any closer." He ordered and Hermione broke into tears.
She started walking backwards, doing as ordered, knowing what Draco was about to do.She tried to fight against it, but the curse was too strong. There was nothing she could do.
Draco looked at her for a short moment, forgetting about Lucius. Unfortunately, throughout those few seconds, Lucius was able to recover his wand.
"Expelliarmus! Crucio!" Lucius Malfoy casted onto his own son. Draco fell to the ground at the same time as his wand, and started feeling an uncontrollable amount of pain.
He started screaming.
"Stop this!" He begged loudly and began feeling his muscles toughen up. He couldn't fight it and no one could help him.Draco started rolling on the floor, yelling louder with every minute. The amount of pain he was feeling inside his body was nothing like he'd ever felt before. It was driving him insane.
Even his thoughts seemed to hurt him. He closed his eyes... pain. Opened them, more pain.
It was pointless.
His hands were pushing down his facial skin, attempting to set his mind straight. But he couldn't.
"Please stop this!" He yelled again, and Lucius looked down at his son. He did not react.
"If you're going to kill me, just do it!" Draco begged. The torture was driving him insane. He couldn't take it anymore.
"You know what? I have a better idea!" Lucius said and lifted the crucio spell.
Draco was panting on the floor. Screaming had stopped.
The night was silent once again.
"Stand up!" Lucius ordered, but Draco couldn't move. He was exhausted.
Lucious laughed softly once again. "I'll help you out," he said slowly. "Imperious!"
"Now, I'll simply repeat. Stand up, Draco."
"You're wicked," Draco said under his breath, but followed orders. He couldn't do otherwise.
"Stand next to me."
Now, both Draco and Lucius were facing Hermione. Her face grew extremely pale, and tears had not stopped flowing.
Not her
Draco thought
PleaseDraco could not release the imperial curse he had placed on Hermione, because his wand was still away from him, and he couldn't move to pick it up.
Draco and Hermione looked at each other at what seemed to be ages, but at the same time, not long enough. Memories, both good and bad, flashed through their minds, and they could not believe where they were currently standing.
Draco blamed himself entirely. None of this would be happening if he simply stayed away from the wizarding world and ran away somewhere else. Everyone would be at peace.
But it's too late now. "I'm sorry," Draco whispered.
"Open your eyes widely, traitor." Lucius said softly. "AVADA KEDAVRA!" He yelled and casted the most grave unforgivable curse in the direction of the only person that Draco cared about.
Draco closed his eyes and green lights flashed. No one could see anything.
Lucius smiled under the green flash as Draco felt a cold hand give him his wand.In just a few seconds, Draco shut the world down and focused on his own mind.
Draco, you are strong enough. Fight the curse. You can do it.
With enough willpower, it's possible. He took a deep breath, and opened his eyes. The world was still flashing green. Everything seemed to be in slow motion... for Draco, anyway.
As his wand was given to him, he attempted to point it to his side. Right at his father.
And he did it.
The Imperial curse controlled him no more."AVADA KEDAVRA!" Draco yelled and pointed to his side. He did not stutter nor thought twice.
Lucius smile was wiped away and he fell to the floor.
He was dead.
Killed by his own son."Hermione?!" Draco yelled as soon as the night was dark again and the lights had gone away. "Lumos!"
Draco ran to where Lucius casted the killing curse, and there was a body on the floor. Draco could not see the face, but the robe was gryffindor. Did he really kill her?
Draco, seconds later, moved the hood away from the body. His eyes widened.
"Weasley?"
Draco was confused and shaking. He was very cold. The person dead on the floor was Ronald Wasley. But how? When?
Hermione then touched Draco's shoulder from behind. He turned around rapidly. "Hermione? W-what? I don't understand!"
Hermione sighed. She was crying while looking at Ron.
"I don't know how he knew we were here... but as soon as Lucius casted the spell he covered me. Ron sacrificed himself for me..." a tear dropped from her face. "And I did nothing but be horrible to him..."
Harry then came running from behind. "Ron?!" He yelled. It appeared Harry had been following Ron but he simply was not fast enough.
Harry's face was covered in scratches, and he was running slowly. His left leg seemed to be injured.
"Where are you?!" Harry yelled and saw Draco and Hermione. He then looked at the body on the floor. "N-no.. it can't be" said Draco as he gasped.
"He saved me." Said Hermione. "R-Ron's a hero."
Draco then hugged Hermione tightly. Even though he used to heavily dislike Ron Weasley, his view of him changed drastically. Currently, in Draco's eyes, Ron was one of the bravest wizards he had ever met.
Harry, Hermione, and Draco all looked at each other.
Then looked at Ron.
They looked back at the dead Lucius Malfoy.
Then they looked ahead at the destroyed Hogwarts."I'm sorry," said Draco. "The wizarding world broke because of me..."
He then stood up, carried Ron's dead body, and slowly walked towards the fight in Hogwarts.
"I will fix this."
The end.
