Hermione tried following Malfoy and the mysterious shadow. She could not figure out who it was... he was wearing a black robe and she could only see his back.
Hermione jogged as quietly as she could, but she could not keep up with the other two. They had vanished into the shadows of the dungeons."Holy Merlin! I need to talk to Harry," she thought to herself, and started heading to the Gryffindor common room as fast as she could. Luckily, Harry was on a table studying (as Hermione expected). She sprinted to his table, and put her books down on the floor.
Draco's robe was still on her hand."Harry!" She panted, and he looked up rapidly.
"What is it? Are you okay?" He asked anxiously.
"I w-was tutoring M-m-Malfoy a-and," She started panting harder.
"Sit down, relax, take a deep breath," Harry said calmly and Hermione did as asked.
Minutes later, she started talking again. "I was tutoring Malfoy and once the lesson was done, he left because he had 'somewhere to be.' Anyway, almost an hour later, I realized he didn't take his robe with him and I was planning to give it to him... but then-"
"Then what?" Harry asked.
"Let me finish!" She interrupted. "When I left Slughorn' dungeon, I heard Draco's voice and went to check out what it was. He was talking to someone... someone older than him for sure... but I couldn't make out who it was... a professor? maybe someone that doesn't work in the school?... I don't know. So they went really fast through the corridors, and even though I was jogging, I failed to keep up with them and lost them after a few seconds. So I rushed to the Gryffindor Tower and now I'm here," she finished off.
"What were they talking about?" Harry asked with curiosity, as he closed his Herbology textbook.
"The person asked Draco how something had gone, and Malfoy said it was 'all right,' then the deep voice said 'come, I need to show you something,' and they left." She said, and started to panic.
What if Malfoy had something to do with Death Eaters still?
Was he planning vengeance on Hogwarts?Harry sat in silence for a few minutes and then said: "that's odd, Hermione,"
"So you have any idea of what this may be about?" She wondered.
"Not quite. There are many uncertainties... but I'll go to the library and let you know about it tomorrow. When is your next tutoring with Malfoy?"
"Saturday,"
"Brilliant. Try making conversation with him and maybe find out who he was talking to. Avoid being too direct because that would be rather suspicious, and he won't tell you anything. Do this during the next few times you see him, and eventually he'll gain some trust from you." He proposed. "Also, do not tell Ron about this because he'll become furious and start freaking out,"
"Why would he be furious?" Asked she.
"He doesn't want anything to do with Malfoy, and if you tell him you've been tutoring him, he'll break his wand,"
Hermione chuckled. "Speaking of him.... how has he been doing?" She asked innocently as she picked up her books from the floor.
"He'll be alright," Harry responded with a weak smile, and Hermione nodded slowly.
"Well, Goodnight Harry," She said softly.
"Goodnight Mione. Stay safe,"
"You too." She went up the stairs, and reached her dormitory. It was empty, as it was still early, but Hermione felt exhausted. She went to the bathroom to change into some pajamas, but she realized Malfoy's robe was still in her hard.
So she decided it to try it on.
She took her Gryffindor robe off and put on the Slytherin one. Hermione walked to the big mirror in front of her closet (inside the dormitory), and looked at herself. This looks different...
I kinda like it...
I must give this back to him tomorrow, and start gaining his trust. Then, Ginny entered the room.
"Goodnight Mione!" She said with a smile.
"Hi," She said.
Ginny hugged her and smelt the masculine cologne in Hermione's robe.
"What's this?" Ginny asked. "Slytherin? From who?"
Hermione blushed.
"Malfoy's," she said embarrassed and took it off. "He didn't give it time me, he forgot it in tutoring and- I don't know I wanted to see how green looked on me,"Ginny chuckled. "It looks good, but red is better. Gryffindor all the way!" She said.
"Indeed," Hermione agreed.
"So did anything else happen with Malfoy?" She asked.
"Not really, just tutoring," she lied, and laid in bed. "I'm tired, Ginny, I'm going to go to sleep,"
"Goodnight, Hermione,"
"Goodnight, Ginny,"
And this time, Hermione went to bed uneasy, trying to guess who the mysterious figure was, and smelling Draco's cologne.
