"Ron, wake up! Wake up!" Hermione yelled-whispered in potions class. "Professor Slughorn is watching!"
"W-What?" He said and looked up. The entire class giggled.
"Erm... mate?" Seamus said. "You've got unicorn blood all over your face, and it's covered your robe."
"Bollocks," Ron said under his breath and then realized he was covered in blood. He asked Professor Slughorn to go the restroom immediately after. As he walked, he tried to rub the unicorn blood out of his robes, but it wouldn't come out. He tried to think of a charm to clean it all off, but he couldn't think of anything at the moment. He was too exhausted.
Ron went inside of the restroom, and looked at his reflection in the mirror. He was a mess.
"You might want to try the scouring charm to clean that off, Weasley," Draco Malfoy said from behind.
"I didn't ask," Ron replied and rolled his eyes. "And shouldn't you be in potions right now?"
Draco shrugged. "I just wanted to sleep in," he replied with a smile and left the bathroom without another word.
Ron waited a couple minutes after Draco left, and then whispered the spell, flicked his wand, and he was suddenly all cleaned up.
That Malfoy... he thought with hatred... always thinking he's better than everybody else.
Ron went back to potion's class, and was surprised to see that Draco's seat was still empty. He had skipped the class completely.
"Harry?" Ron whispered to his best friend.
Harry looked up.
"Malfoy is not her today," he said.
"It appears so,"
"But I just saw him in the bathroom," Ron said in confusion. "And he didn't look sick or anything..."
"Ron, just let him be. He's not a death eater anymore, maybe he is sick and you didn't notice. Cool your anxiety down and start paying attention in class." Hermione sighed, in annoyance, and continued taking notes.
But when class was dismissed, Hermione wondered what was up with Malfoy. Walking alone in the corridors at night.... skipping classes.... could Ron possibly be right? Could Draco Malfoy be planning something against Hogwarts as revenge?
The day went by slowly, and so did the next few weeks of school. It was already November, and Hermione was still trying to figure out if Malfoy was planning anything odd.
"Hermione?" Ginny asked. "Are you going to be staying in Hogwarts for the holidays?"
"I think so," she responded. "Are you?"
"No, mum wants all of us to go visit Bill and Fleur. Harry is coming as well," Ginny
smirked. "If you want to come with, just let me know, okay?""Of course," Hermione smiled. "I have transfiguration next, so I'll talk to you in the Gryffindor Common Room?"
Ginny nodded and left.
As Hermione went upstairs, a blonde boy caught her eye. It's him.
"Look who finally decided to show up to class..." Hermione teased.
Draco grinned.
"Transfiguration?" She asked, and he nodded.
"Who is the new profesor? Is it still McGonagal?"
"No, she comes by sometimes, but we have a new profesor, his name is Professor Harrison. An old mate of old Professor Snape. He's a Slytherin too," Hermione replied.
"Good to know," Draco smiled, and went inside the classroom.
"Good afternoon Professor," Hermione said and sat down.
"Today we're going to be learning how to transfigure a snake into a water bottle filled with water. So if one day you're in the desert and you're thirsty, you can just find a snake, and get free water. Easy material." Professor Harrison announced.
"And Mr. Malfoy, please take a seat next to Miss Granger. You've been absent quite a lot, and will need some help. She will be able to guide you,"
Draco nodded, and sat next to Hermione. "Hey, again," he said.
"Hi,"
"You don't need to help me, this can't be hard. Besides, who in their right mind would want to go to a desert? Hogwarts teaches us some skills that we don't even need in our lives." Draco sighed.
"At least we learn something new..."
"Easy for you to say."
"Students, you have to be careful with these snakes. They don't bite, but they sure love to move around." Professor Harrison said, and started handing out small snakes.
"This is so irresponsible!" Hermione protested. "He can't give out snakes to a whole classroom full of children! They might hurt themselves!"
"Granger, it's okay. We're wizards. If anyone hurts himself or herself,he or she can just go to the hospital wing," Draco giggled.
"Repeat after me, class, 'maghizts aquatika!'" Profesor Harrison said out loud and everyone repeated.
"Maghizts aquatika!" Hermione said rapidly, trying to get rid of the snake. A big water bottle appeared and she smiled in achievement.
"Good job Miss Granger," the Professor said. "Mr. Malfoy, go ahead,"
"Maghizts aquatika!" He said, but nothing happened. "I said, Maghizts aquatika!" But still, nothing.
Mr. Harrison shook his head.
"Mr. Malfoy, I've been thinking about it, and you've missed so many classes, I think you're going to be needing tutoring. Miss Granger and you could work together every other day. And please, do not miss class again." Professor said.
"I won't," Draco claimed.
"Class dismissed." Professor Harrison announced.
"I guess we'll be seeing each other often," Draco told Hermione. "I'll send you an owl, and we can work a schedule."
