Through The Trial

Chapter 2

The week went by slowly. I could barely make it. On Saturday we went back to the hospital. Jones is getting out today. He's doing a whole lot better. We started to build a case against his dad.
"Mr. Lane I was just wondering if I could get a letter of recommendation for Duke university I want to be a lawyer." Jones said.
We have talked about this a couple times. Jones wants justice for everyone. So I was not surprised even when my dad said "we'll I thought you'd never ask I saw a spark in you". He smiled and looked at me we both smiled we aren't dating both always wanted to go to the same college as me. We have this awkward relationship all of our friends say we should go out but I don't know if we're ready yet. We have been through so much.
When we got back to the house my dad said " You will go back to school Wednesday."
Jones smiled and shakes his head in reply. The trail wasn't for about two weeks later. So we had some time to calm and get into a routine.
"Dad, Molly, Katie, John and David all want to go out tonight and want me and Jones to tag along. Can we please go. We'll be very careful." I said.
"Okay" dad said.

We got ready Jones was hiding a-little pain I made him take some of his medication he has been so discreetly avoiding.
"So your now playing my doctor." He said.
"You so know it's not playing" I said.
"Does your dad know about your full ride scholarship to Duke for a medical program." He said.
"Yes but we haven't talking about it he wanted me to be lawyer but I don't have the wanting or the skill" I said "but the good thing is you'll be taking my place at the firm working alongside my dad"
"I know kinda scary right."
We got to Haley's the local dinner and Katie and David see us first let's just say Molly and John are arguing over if we were coming or not.
"Hey guys" Jones said pulling out my chair.
"Thanks" I said quietly toward him.
"Molly, John you betting again." Jones says.
"Didn't know if you make this a triple date or not" Molly said jokingly.
"Mol you know we're not dating." I said with a bit of sadness he hasn't asked yet and I am not rushing anything. We ate all got the things we normally get. Me, chicken tortilla soup. Molly and John split a double bacon cheese burger. Katie pea soup and David grilled cheese never let go of his inner child. Jones thou changed on me he got a steak. He told me that his life was changing so he was going to let it.
