"Wake up,Wake up" Moonlight shouts into my ears. I jump up and I look around." they found Stripetail" she says, tears roll from her eyes" He-he is dead". I run out from the cave, the warriors are back and Stripetail is not. I feel as if its my fault. If I were to show myself before the fight, This would not have happened. I throw myself to the ground and everything goes silent when I close my eyes.

"Get up Lightheart" a wolf says in an angry tone." Get off the ground now Darkscar wants to see you" the wolf yells. I stand and droop my head." There is no time to weep around get to your leader" He says. I walk over to Darkscar's den and settle down next to him.

"You wanted to see me" I say sorrowfully.

"Yes, I wanted to address whatever information you may have on Stripedtail's death"

" Well, its a she wolf with a dark pelt like mine. She said her name was Lonewolf and belongs to know one."

"Lonewolf that-, thank you Lightheart this will help your fellow warriors track down that-,wolf" Darkscar tells me. I wait for him to excuse me and I walk over to Moonlight.

"Hey, What did Darkscar tell you" she says slowly and with a whimper in her voice.

" He was just asking questions about what I saw and heard." I explain trying not to go into detail. I sit down next to her and she lays her head on my shoulder.

"What was the last thing he said" she asks quietly. My mind wanders as I think of his final words.

" He was defending me and when she asked for him to give me up, he said never" I look down at herm, tears filled her eyes. Seeing her sad made me upset. If I would have given myself up everything would be okay. " Please don't cry" I say comfortingly " It hurts me to see anyone cry". She tilts her head up.

" Do you want to go and sit in the ferns" She says as she stops crying.

"Sure" I say following her through the entrance and to the ferns. I stop where the ferns began a watch as she jumps and disappears into the ferns. Then with a step and a leap i'm gone to. We play like pups till the large warrior that told me to go to Darkscar yelled.

" Get back to camp this instant, we have a rogue on the loose looking for you" he yells gesturing towards me.

"We're sorry Bearclaw, honest" Moonlight says in a soft voice. We walk to the entrance and go to the cave. " Bearclaw is so rude." She says flatly" Its fun to tease him along with loudhowl". Loudhowl was to elder I ran into on my way to the nursery. His personality must make him ful to tease. " You want to meet my mother tomorrow her name is Blueye she is due to have a litter soon." She says out of the blue.

"Um, sure" what else am I supposed to say. I curl up on my bed and quickly fall asleep. All that playing must have got to me.

I wake up to moonlight howling in my face.

" come on I want you to meet my mom" she howls. I'm pretty sure everyone in camp heard her. I stand and follow her to the nursery. As we enter a wolf whiter than Moonlight looks up at me. She must be blueye. Her gaze meets mine and she smiles.

" Is this must be your friend right " She asks Moonlight.

"Yes mother" she says to Blueye. "well have you thought of names." Asked Moonlight talking about the pups that are due.

" Not realy, I like feathereye though. I thought it had a natural feel what about you, have you thought about names for your siblings?" Blueye asks. Moonlight stops and stares for a second.

"Maybe Graytail if he or she is gray'" she responds.

" What about you Lightheart got any good ideas" her mother asks me. Her question strikes me, like a swipe to the head. I was not expecting her to ask me for ideas.

" um, maybe-" I sit and ponder for a second" Tinyeye for the runt, you know because he is small". They both laugh.

" Well thank you both for visiting me you two go and play". We run off and Stamperpaw follows.

" Hey wait up, I not that fast-" then he stumbles and falls. we both stop and Moonlight rushes to his side.

" Are you okay?" she asks

" I'm fine,I'm fine" He says" where are you guys going? Can I come" he says as he starts to get up off the ground.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

" Well I have to go and train with Sharptooth at sunhigh, you need a new mentor I would go talk to Darkscar." she says" why don't you take Stamperpaw with you, Darkscar could see how much he's grown".

"Okay." I say ant trot towards Darkscar's den. He meets me outside.

" Hello Lightheart" He says a little more down than he usually talks" I would like to talk to you about your mentoring." He excuses Stamperpaw and gestures for me to come inside." I am very sorry about your mentor's death, things like that don't usually happen, I have thought about my decision and I believe its best if I take you on as my own apprentice." I am so happy to have such a privilege, but there is something else I saw In his eyes. A bit of suspicion, but I couldn't be so sure.

" thank you Darkscar that Is an amazing opportunity-"

" It is not an opportunity," He interrupts rudely "its happening, I am your new mentor." His stern voice catches me off guard as if I was going to turn it down this honor. He excuses me and tells me to be ready to train in the morning, I go and wait for Moonlight to return, and I can't help but thinking that I missed something I should have understood.
