~LOVING A STRANGER~
My heart dropped as the doctors said those words.
"But she's alive but the twin babies she was carrying couldn't make it."
Phewww
"Is she okay?" I asked.
"I can't say now, she is unable to breathe on her own for now." The doctor informed.
"Can I see her?"
"No, you can come tomorrow."
"Ok. "
"Don't forget to visit the cashier on your way."
"Thanks doctor."
I made my way to the cashier and deposited some amount of money before leaving.
I went back to the hotel and rested, it was indeed a hectic day.
The next day I went to visit her, they already cleaned her up it turns out that she was very beautiful.
Brown eyes, chocolate skin, chubby, big beautiful curls, everything about her screamed perfection. I couldn't stop staring at her.
"Who are you?" She asked as soon as I entered her room.
"I'm Dave, I umm.... saw you lying in the desert, long story short, I brought you here."
She tried to get up but I stopped her, her face morphed into a concern look when she took her glance at her tummy.
"What happened to my baby? Huh? You killed them didn't you? They sent you! You murderer!" She sobbed.
"They died, they couldn't make it!" I told her and she looked at me in shock.
"They?" She questioned.
"Yes, you were with two, not one." I informed because it seemed like she wasn't aware of that fact.
It made me curious, I wanted to know what really happened to her. She continued crying and I tried to console her but she wouldn't let me touch her.
"You're just like them! You killed them, you ruined my life! Bloody bastard!" She cried on.
It took a lot of convincing before she finally calmed down, the doctor suggested that we give her a sedative but I disagreed and managed to calm her down.
Her name was Elia.
A few days past before she was finally able to leave the hospital, she couldn't walk on her own because still weak. I took her to suite and got her new clothes, Havana helped me with that since she was the only woman I knew in Celsibon.
We became friends and one day she opened up to me, at that moment I felt the need to always protect and take care of her and in no time I found myself falling, falling for a stranger.
It was time for me to leave but I couldn't leave her behind so I decided to take her along with me. She would be able to settle down there better.
We arrived back home and my parents bombarded me with questions and I had to tell them the truth but they didn't want to accept her. Elia was disappointed and sad, she didn't want be a bother to any of us, she told me that she would leave and look for somewhere else to stay but I wasn't having any of that.
So I decided to look for a house, I found one and landed a well paying job. I worked as a doctor in a hospital and also started a search for a job for Elia.
She settled for a job as a cashier in a supermarket, she was satisfied with that, she didn't want anything strenuous at all.
I was the happiest man alive when I told Elia about my feelings and she accepted them. I felt blessed because women like Elia were hard to find.
Being with Elia everyday was like a dream, her laugh, the way she talks, how she goes about doing her things, her determination, everything.
She was a strong person indeed, she had been through a lot she still managed to bring her smile to my face and live her life with so much positive energy.
I never believed in love but with Elia I did.
