This isn't happening...

I thought you were dead...

But I'm not...

Telepathy. This was definitely her. She could read minds and send messages ever since she was a baby. I rushed towards her and dropped to my knees.

I sobbed as I cupped her thin face. She was startled at first, but when her eyes met mine, she instantly knew it was me.

"T-tordle?" She latched onto me with a tight hug as she broke down in my arms. "I didn't even know it was you... Why didn't you come back for me?"

"I'll tell you everything later. Right now we need to leave before those people come back."

She nodded and started pulling on her chain. It came off the wall with a clank.

"What the hell?" Edd jumped to his feet in surprise.

Rage filled my body as I realized why they've been keeping her alive.

Those bastards were
experimenting on you weren't they?

H-how'd you know?

She was surprised. She'd never experienced such strength before.

I have my reasons. I explained to her.

"Snap that chain off. We're breaking you out."

"So, you're just gonna ignore the fact that you never told us you had a sister?" Edd argued.

I shot him a death glare. "Not now, Edd."

He cleared his throat nervously. "Fine then I'll ask later."

We all quickly ran up the stairs and outside into the woods where we ran into Pau and Pat.

"Where were you?" I asked them.

"We found a shed out back completely untouched." Pat answered

"And?" I pushed on, hoping that whatever was in that shed would be able to help us hunt and survive.

"Its a gold mine." Pau said, pulling out a hatchet.

"We'll see what all you've managed to grab later," I glanced around anxiously. "We've got to leave before the red army gets here."

"What're you talking about-"

"Come on!" I grabbed Pat as we jogged up into the woods.

Echoes of an engine rumbled in the distance as we dove for cover just over the hill. Something persuaded me to peek out over the hill, an invisible eye watching their every move.

There they were, racing up the hill in a blue jeep towards the abandoned house. God only knows what they would've done to her if we weren't there.

I knew once they walked into the basement, panic was going to erupt. Getting to my feet, I helped up the others, whisper-shouting for them to start running. I picked up Elaine, handing her to Pau, nodding for him catch up with the others.

I wanted to see the panicked looks on their faces when they ran out. It peaked my curiosity to find out what they would do if their secret weapon was gone.

I got back down, army crawling back to my spot where I could see the house perfectly beyond the trees.

There was movement behind me. I snapped around, expecting to see more soldiers, but instead Tom crawled up next to me.

I sighed. "You know what I'm gonna say, right?"

He slid over closer to me, giggling softly as he said, "If you want me to leave, you're gonna have to carry me back, psycho."
