The next morning, I wake up feeling so excited and enthusiastic I almost go outside and give Sandor a hug. Then I wonder why I'm feeling so enthusiastic. Then I remember.

I get ready for school in record time and run downstairs for breakfast. Like always, I trip and fall on the last step.

"Did it hurt?" Edaline looks down on me.

"When I fell from heaven? Mom, I know you lo-"

"No. when you tripped and fell on the stairs. You've been lying there for five minutes."

"We both saw it." Grady adds, sipping whatever it is he's drinking.

"Seriously?" I mumble. Embarrassment level -> Max.

I try to jump back up but then all I do is end up falling again.

Grady ends up laughing while he's drinking so he chokes and Edaline has to go smack his back a couple of times.

Flori rushes down the stairs without falling and while holding 3 pots in each hand and one on her head. (how? That's not fair -____-) "Miss Foster!" she rushes over and helps me up. "Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" She gives me a quick assessment.

"Yes. my pride got hurt."

Bo comes down the stairs after Flori. "You can't hurt something you never had."

"Good morning to you as well, Botros."

"Wh-what! Don't call me that!"

"Botros Botros Botros Bot-"

Bo looks at Sandor. "It's like she's asking for me to kill her."

Sandor, as calm and collected as ever. "Which, as her bodyguard, you will refrain from."

After a quick breakfast, we all hightail it over to the Leapmaster and go to Foxfire.

But all chaos has broken loose. Prodigies are covering their mouths with their hands and running in all directions as fast as they can. It's bloody chaos.

"SOPHIE! MAGNATE LETO'S OFFICE! NOW!" Tam yells in my ear. "I HAVE NO BLOODY IDEA WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON BUT MAGANTE LETO YELLED THIS IN MY EAR AND SO I'M YELLING IN YOURS!"

His voice sounds like normal voice volume compared to the screaming coming from other prodigies. "WHERE'S LINH?" I yell back.

"TRYING TO CONTAIN THE STORM!"

I stop running. "WHAT?"

"Yeah..."

"WHAT IF SHE NEEDS HELP? WE'VE GOT TO HELP HER!"

From somewhere Fitz appears next to us. "IT'S A WAR ZONE THERE! YOU CAN'T GO!"

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT!" I tell him. "LINH IS OUR FRIEND AND WE CAN'T JUST LET HER TAKE THAT ON HERSELF!" I start running in the other direction. "Besides, my definition of a war zone is way different than yours."

Turns out, the scene was waayyyy above everyone's standards of a war zone.

There is a huge funnel of water on the bottom floor of the glass pyramid which we call Foxfire. Everything within a 50 feet radius is in tatters. When we get there, winds traveling maybe 45 miles per hour whip around us, and blow my hair in my face.

But I've never seen Linh look so confident.

Her hands are outstretched, two powerful streams of water from the funnel swirling into her hands, like she's absorbing it. A blue aura the color of the sea surrounds her, and she cracks the streams like whips and tightens the funnel.
