It's all about lines. The finish line at the end of residency. Waiting for a chance at the operating table. And then there's the most important line, the line separating you from the people you work with.

(Season one, episode two)
Waking up to some not so great sounds for what seems like the fifth time that night, Claire finally decides to start getting ready for work. Taking a shower and putting on some mom jeans and a long sleeve shirt, the brunette decides to grab a granola bar from the kitchen and make her way out of the apartment as fast as she possibly can to get away from the very pornographique sounds coming from her roommate's room.

After putting on her scrubs, Claire and the rest of the interns of her class make their way to a hallway where Izzie starts talking. "Why do you put up posters for roommates if you don't want roommates?"
"I do want roommates. We're together one-hundred hours a week. You want to live together, too?" Meredith comments.
"I see you bring bribes now, huh?" Cristina says.
"I need a place to live. My mom irons my scrubs. I have to get out of there." George tries.
"It's not a bribe. I don't think it's a good idea." The dirty blonde remarks.
"I can put down last, first, and deposit." George tries once again.
"It's totally a bribe." Cristina says.
"I can cook, and I'm an obsessive cleaner." Izzie argues.
"I don't think saying you're an obsessive cleaner will help Izzie." Claire finally comments.
"No, I just want two total strangers. Oh, Claire." Meredith says, making the french woman turn over. "You wanna move in?" She said, making the other interns look at her in surprise. "What, she's always calm and keeps to herself."
"Yeah, sounds better than staying in an apartment with a roommate that has sex all night and sleeps during the day." The young intern replied, finishing writing in her chart and making the intern look at her. "What, she's very fit." She adds laughing, as they start making their way to Bailey.
"George, you're running the code team. Meredith and Claire, take the trauma pager. Cristina, deliver the weekend labs to the patients. Izzie, you're on sutures." Bailey says before making her way to the stairs while everyone but Claire follows. While the Giron girl makes her way to the pit, but not without hearing.
"Dr. Bailey, I was hoping to assist you in the OR today." Said Meredith. "Maybe to a minor procedure. I think I'm ready. Mocha latte?" She asked, as the resident stopped on the stairs, and the rest of the intern followed her lead and asked.
"Stop talking. Every intern wants to perform their first surgery. That's not your job. Do you know what your job is?" The Nazi asked. "To make your resident happy. Do I look happy? No. Why? Because my interns are whiny. You know what will make me look happy? Having a code team staffed, having the trauma pages answered, having the weekend labs delivered, and having someone in the pit, doing the sutures. No one holds a scalpel till I'm so happy, I'm Mary freakin Poppins, and the only one I see or don't doing that is Giron, and with her luck will already be in the ER waiting for trauma." She finished, while grabbing the mocha latte and walking up the stairs.
