I want to hold onto Jim for an eternity. He is so warm and energy sparks between us as I hug him tighter.

"You will live with me for a while." he says and I let go of him as if he was a disease. "Till' everything in your home has sorted out."

"What?" I breath out.

How does he know about the situation in my home? I haven't told him anything about it and it's none of his business.

Plus, I'm not going to live with him just so he can use me as his private pleasure-giver.

"I don't want to." I say in a sharp tone.

"Laura, it's not like that. Not anymore. I'm-"

"What?" I huff. "You have a girlfriend or something?"

I expect him to laugh it off since it's an obvious joke, but he swallows and stays quiet.

Finally he uncertainly opens his mouth. "Me and Nancy, we're sort of-"

I quickly interrupt him because what he is about to say will sure shatter my heart to pieces. "It's okay. I don't want to know."

"Okay. But will you live with me?"

"What about your family?"

"They will barely notice. Mom won't care."

Yeah, his mom who still thinks I'm a slut.

And as easy as that Jim and I walk out the hospital together. I feel so small next to him and that doesn't soothe me at all. I don't like being a submissive and next to Jim I clearly am.

"How much do you hate me on a scale one to ten?" Jim asks in a bitter tone.

"I don't hate you." my voice shows the contrary.

"Alright. Can we talk about everything then? I can explain what happened that night at the party-"

"No, Jim." I say in a sharp tone. "I don't want to talk about that."

We've reached into Inwood and Jim nods for me to climb the ladder to his window. I quickly hurry inside because it's freezing cold.

"Why you don't wanna talk about it? You're clearly pissed off."

"Of course I am!" I hiss and wave my arms in the air. Jim sits down on his bed with a sigh and looks at me with raised brows.

"You went and slept with Nancy after everything you and I had done!"

"And I'm sorry. I never meant to make you upset."

"If you didn't mean to make me upset, then you clearly don't know how girls work."

He huffs. "Oh, I do."

"No, you don't."

"And I know you as well and therefore I know you don't wanna fight right now so come here." he nods for me to approach him where he is sitting.

"Why?"

"Just come here."

I obey but keep a suspicious frown on my face.
