Part 2 || you're a fool

Sunghoon's POV

Dad: "your mom and I agreed that, whoever marries into the Sim family will get 3/4's the inheritance"

Yeji: "so you want one of us to marry into their family for money?"

Mom: "it's a motivation" these people are sick but it's honestly quite intriguing

Dad: "here's how it works" he cleared his throat and continued talking "whoever marries into their family will get 3/4's the inheritance but if none of you do then it'll still be the original 50/50" so it's either I get 50% or 3/4th... "but..." he continued then gestured to my mom

Mom: "but, if you both marry into the Sim family then we will give you your 50/50 share and it's your choice wether or not to take on the business or sell it" Yeji and I widened our eyes at them. Seriously? They were so big on both of us taking it over ever since we were kids and now they're giving us that choice

Yeji: "are you guys even serious"

Dad: "yes we've hired a lawyer to ensure this deal even after we pass in case anything happens"

Mom: "both of you are now excu-"

Sunghoon: "why are you doing this" I questioned them. This is so sudden and random there has to be a catch right? "Our entire childhood you've taught us the ways of the business and you keep saying we'd take it on after college and now all of a sudden this?" Our parents sighed

Mom: "honey, we might not act it but we both care very much for the two of you" I furrowed my eyebrows at them. Don't act it don't say it whatever it was it was very rare to feel any affection from them "we want to make sure your future is safe and marrying into the Sim family is the best decision we could think of. We've known them for so long we trust them with you guys" there's no catch at all? Do they really just care for us? I stood up suddenly

Sunghoon: "I'm going" I headed towards my room and I heard Yeji behind me. I thought about it more and more and the deal started to get interesting. 3/4's the inheritance huh? Me marrying y/n? Hmm... it's gonna take a long time but my parents have a ton of money so 3/4's of that will be mine if ever... I chuckled to myself thinking how much money I'd have. But Yeji is at an advantage since she's already dating Jake... I could marry y/n then divorce her once my parents die. On the business side I could sell it and get even more money! I smirked and started laughing to myself. I'm gonna be so fucking rich!

A/N's POV

While Sunghoon was laughing to himself in the hallway of his house on the way to his room Yeji came running behind him

Yeji: "Sunghoon!" She grabbed his shoulder and turned him around which brought his smile to a frown

Sunghoon: "what Yeji"

Yeji: "what did you think about mom and dads deal?" She asked curiously wanting to know what her brother thought

Sunghoon: "I think it's brilliant" he confidently answered while the corner of his lip was curled up. This made Yeji worry about y/n and about her brother

Yeji: "are you saying you agree with them?! Do you know how twisted that deal is?!"

Sunghoon: "yeah it's fucking twisted but guess what Yeji. Our parents are twisted themselves! Open your eyes and see that!" Yeji felt disappointed in her brother knowing he was just after money

Yeji: "you're a fool Benja- I mean, Sunghoon..." Sunghoon gave his sister a poker face after she almost slipped "are you really gonna play with y/n? Marry her then divorce? Are you gonna go through all that trouble for money?"

Sunghoon: "wouldn't you?" He threw the question back at her "knowing how much mom and dad have and how much the company/business is worth aren't you even a little tempted to marry Jake even more now" Yeji didn't know how to answer. Is he really serious right now? She thought to herself

Yeji: "no because I love Jake, I can't believe you would think I'd marry Jake for the money!" She raised her voice at Sunghoon defending herself "I love Jake for the way he is. I don't care about the money! Wait- are you threatened I'll get the inheritance since I'm already dating Jake and you're on bad terms with y/n?! Is that why?! And you blame me for wanting to marry Jake for money! You're the one who's planning on marrying y/n just to get money! You're a fool if you think that!"

Sunghoon: "yeah I admit, I'm tempted to marry her for the inheritance but I'm not blind Yeji, I can tell even you want to marry Jake for the money" Yeji furrowed her eyebrows at her brother. He sighed and placed his hands in his pocket "you know why you're getting so defensive? You know why you're trying to convince me so bad that you wanna marry Jake for the way he is and not for that stupid deal?" Yeji didn't answer and Sunghoon scoffed a bit

Sunghoon: "it's because you're actually trying to convince yourself that you don't wanna marry Jake for money. You know how our parents are twisted? You'd have to expect their kids to be twisted too right?" Yeji couldn't believe the words coming out of her brothers mouth

Yeji: "Sungh-"

Sunghoon: "our parents just chase after money and it's in our blood to be like them... I'm your twin Park Yeji, I'm not gonna believe you when you say you're not even a bit tempted because I know you are, probably even way more tempted than I am since you know to yourself you're at an advantage" Yeji wasn't able to answer because deep inside her she knew it was true. Sunghoon nodded and scoffed "who's the fool now"

He walked away leaving Yeji dumbfounded in the middle of the hall. Yeji looked at the ground thinking about the words Sunghoon said. Am I really being tempted? No! I can't! That would make me such a bad person! But why do I feel like Sunghoon is correct, I don't wanna admit it but I think he's right...

Sunghoon's POV

I groaned in exhaustion while dropping to my bed. I stared at the ceiling thinking about how y/n and I used to be like. She always called me Hoon, we loved watching kdramas together but I don't know she was just so happy it got annoying. Or maybe because of the business stuff? The only reason we hung out before was when our parents would have business meetings and they started teaching me the ways of the company at a young age. I guess I just found her too childish. Aacckkk I'm so lazy to court her but thinking about the money later on... *chuckle* seems like it'll be worth it thought *smirk*
