Part 27 || never wanted to love

A/N's POV

Y/N: "get in" she left the door open letting it creak a bit. She entered her room and sat down on the side of her bed. Sunghoon stood up so fast it was almost like something had bitten him. He then entered her room eagerly. He hesitantly sat beside y/n slowly letting his weight sink into the bed. They sat in silence for a while waiting for the other to speak but when he noticed she wasn't gonna say anything he went and did it himself

Sunghoon: "please tell me what I can do for you to forgive me, how I can convince you that-"

Y/N: "I forgive you"

Sunghoon: "are you serious? Just like that?" She blinked a few times and nodded cupping her hands together while slouching down. "Why? Why so fast?" She took a deep breath and sighed before speaking

Y/N: "I'm gonna tell you something I've never told anyone. Not even Jake or Yeji..." he waited for her response "I actually never planned on falling in love. I didn't like the idea of it." Sunghoon was caught in shock. He was surprised because the girl who pushed to always watch romance movies instead of action, the girl who wanted to do the cliche maybe even a little bit cringey matchy outfits, and the girl who was more affectionate than him. Was she actually serious about not planning to fall in love? "That's why I rejected all my past suitors... yes I was touched that they liked me but honestly I was scared and irritated"

Sunghoon: "what's there to be afraid of?" He asked cluelessly

Y/N: "back in college you played with a lot of girls' feelings right? You'd give them constant mixed signals then just ghost them in a snap" yes he did do that but honestly he wasn't proud of it nor did he know why he did that "has anyone ever done that to you?" He thought about it for a few seconds and realized no one ever did. The first person he truly had feelings for loved him back after some time "Imagine what those girls must've gone through, especially the ones who actually really liked you"

Y/N: "the reason why I didn't wanna fall in love was actually because of you"

Sunghoon: "what? But- how?" Guilt after guilt kept coming at him

Y/N: "I saw how you played with them, I didn't want any guy to do that to me so I just told myself not to fall in love"

Sunghoon: "but falling in love is beautiful, seeing the small smile from that person can make your day no matter how shitty it is. Just a little show of affection it's like your whole world went from bad to good just like that" a smile crossed her face

Y/N: "is that how you felt with me?" He nodded right away not even second guessing

Sunghoon: "of course that's why falling in love with you is amazing"

Y/N: "but it can destroy you in an instant as well. I didn't wanna give someone the power to control my emotions and my actions all because of some feeling. I didn't wanna give them the knowledge that their little actions could affect me in a totally different way. I don't want my happiness and sadness to depend on just one person. I don't want to keep staring at my phone just for his name to pop up. I didn't wanna keep crying about someone who might not even give a damn about me." She said so fast Sunghoon wondered if she'd rehearsed it. Obviously not, he realizes how serious and how much she believed in that mentality.

Sunghoon: "so then why did you fall in love with me?"

Y/N: "confident much?" That lightened the mood between them

Sunghoon: "you were willing to marry me. Who marries a person they don't love?" She wanted to mention all those arranged marriages but she bit her tongue back

Y/N: "I wasn't planning to fall in love with you. But when you started becoming so nice to me again just like old times I was taken aback and forgot everything. I got too excited and I didn't expect myself to fall for you. I didn't want to but I couldn't help it. I ran out because the moment you screamed at me it made me think about why I didn't want to fall in love in the first place" Sunghoon felt scared. Was she regretting being with him now? Is she gonna leave him? So many thoughts ran across his mind which resulted to him spacing out "but that one incident doesn't make me not love you anymore"

She held her hands together and fidgeted with the engagement ring he gave her. He stared at her hands nervous. He was scared she was going to take it off and give it back to him. She knew he was thinking this. She held her hand up between them

Y/N: "this ring? I'll wear it till the day I die"

Sunghoon: "wait- so, you're not mad?"

Y/N: "I still am but I'm still marrying you, you idi-" Sunghoon cut her off by kissing her then giving her a big hug. He wrapped his arms over her shoulders and pulled her close to him "Hoon-" she stopped when he hugged her even tighter nuzzling his face in her neck. She sighed with a smile and hugged him back

Sunghoon: "You're not going anywhere. You're mine, and that's never going to change..."
